Thank you for your service! The 75th Rangers are the real deal. Great hardcore troops. I was in the 7th Special Forces Group on an A-Team.

I’m thankful to have discovered your channel. You now have one more subscriber! Great flight and very educational. I know most everything in aviation has a reason. So I will ask my question so as to avoid the only dumb question is the one not asked. In my mind the 1000’ marker as a landing point is burning up 1000’ of usable runway. My logic says perhaps this is because of the typical 3 degree glide scope approach. Does that aim point as a standard used for obstacle clearance or maybe that just where the needles bring you to. Just one of those IFR questions I’ve always wondered having only had VFR experience. I thank you in advance if you have time to answer it’s much appreciated. I look forward to getting caught up on all your videos. And a big hello from NC home of Honda Jet kgso.

That is a great question. The 3 degree glideslope brings you down to the 1,000' marker. For what I know, it is designed that way so planes don't land short of the runway. So that is what we shoot for. Some pilots may aim to put the wheels down before that if it is a short runway and or wet conditions, but you have to be careful not to over do it and run out of height before put the wheels on the runway. So, I have found using the glideslope and the recommended proceedure to work and work well. That, along with being on vref speed. That is just as important. Thanks for watching and glad to have you aboard the channel. Don
