As I've slowly gotten out of drifting and stopped watching channels that only show drifting Content, your channel just becomes more and more the best overall motorsport content. Hats off Taylor 👏
For sure I started watching him just because I’m a gear head never had any interest in drifting but enjoyed watching him wrench on the Miata before it was all swapped watching him got me into drifting. I just like hotroding
I’m in the same boat but I just kinda got bored of watching drifting because every YTer does it and just boring to watch. Been watching that style of content for 12 years now. Now I’m into road racing and mostly autox which there are very little autox videos even though there 50,000 active SCCA members for autox.
@@Scout_Shitbox doesn't make it safer, methanol is like a bomb. That's why all these mfers blow up every other pass..shootout king Keith zabo pointed that out. Also why his big block was still on gas...
But if he runs methanol he will have same problem Billy has had with being limited to certain classes which are usually the fastest classes. He should start slow and work his way up
I think methanol would be the smarter choice as then you’re not adding more weight to the front with a intercooler and makes plumping easier and removes a big restriction for power. Either way would be so cool to see this thing rip down the track
If memory serves he wanted to do no-prep and possibly drag and drive right? For sure could do drag and drive with this setup and avoid multiple fuel systems?
Thanks guys ❤️ it is wild To think about how far we’ve come from the days of sharing a 2 car garage having to borrow money from Adam to buy a drift car to now. Wouldn’t be here and would want to be here without all you fine people!
If you haven't already, check out the CJRC videos when they were making the seat fit in Eagle. They had some tricks that might help with the helmet clearance!
For that car I’d skip the intercooler. Weight items include Oil, fuel, Trans fluid, diff fluid, parachute, belts, put the cell in the engine bay on the passenger side fire wall. Quick connect trans cooler. The good items for weight balance include safety equipment, fire bottle, main dry sump tank, battery. You can offset items like the ecu on the firewall.
Front mounted methanol tank for sure. Ditch the intercooler and the cooling system. You're going to be hanging weight for backside anyway, build it as light as you can and it will take less bias to get the front/rear where you want it.
You have the best friends anyone could ask for. Josue is so wholesome and it shows in the unboxing part. He's just as happy to be around to see the craftsmanship of the precisely machined procharger setup as you are. Of course, this is your shop and your car, but I don't think it would be as enjoyable without having those two around, with the unconditional support that they give. Josue(and Rualdo) are the backbone of this operation and it's awesome to see you guys over the years. Ben played a huge part too even though we don't see him as much, but I look forward to these videos, as many other people do too.
Can't wait to experience this Pro-Charger life with ya, something I've seen very little on in terms of what they can do. It'll be very interesting to see it come together and run
I think the dry sump pump going up front also helps with exhaust clearances. Can basically mirror the headers instead of having to slightly reroute the side with the pump.
Try to mount the water to air intercooler behind the dash/pass floor and turned the intake around, charger is clear to be worked on, a single charge pipe in engine bay and hood clearance since the TB will be turned the other way plus IC weight offset drivers weight some
After losing some interest in drifting and getting into drag racing I’m so happy to see you doing this build! So excited to see what you create man! Love the channel!
Keep in mind if you want even more power management you can also use wastegates on the charge piping. Allows you to run more base pressure but control it with holleys dome control and timing to reduce the power for varying surface conditions.
@@Taylordrifts I think you need to reach out to Ryan Mitchell (KC Maxx performance) a man's wealth of knowledge and just a down to earth guy. I'm sure he would be willing to help you out.
@Taylordrifts Waste gates on the cold side will give you the advantages of controlling boost pressure at launch and feeding power down track. Being no-prep, you definitely want the ability to soften the launch for grip and still build power and momentum for the top end. Considering a single Meth shot versus a cooler will depend on the response you want from the engine and intake temps. Of course, you have a huge resource group of working information, so it's all about what works for you.🤙
T-RAY you are an absolute Legend man!! Your content truly makes my day. I have legit seen ever single video on your channel!! Just wanna say happy holidays!! And also curious how are you liking your new big green toolbox?
Always love watching your channel. Love watching you drive, the builds, the house content, the boat vids. All of it is done so genuinely and it’s always a joy to watch
The Pro charger setup looks like it was made with this RX7 in mind. I am excited that it will be a light weight build, just as the Miata rebuild. Good to see Rualdo there as well. You 3 make a good team.
This car is gonna be a Bad Motha Fer. To keep yourself from having to do a intercooler I'd run Methanol. The whole package will be a lot happier running that fuel and you will have plenty of useable power. Can't wait to see this car running
I’m really liking this build!! Now we know that the rest of your team can talk, 😂I think it’s cool you asking them for their opinions at the end of the video. No prep and no jibber-jabbern🔥💪🏼👍🏼
Hell yeah! Cant wait for some more content on the RX7. You do such a great work taking us along for the build, the thought behind decisions around it and eventually using the vehicles. Merry Christmas to you and your family :)
Perfect choice! The turbo stuff makes big power but it becomes a battle of how much you can use and where. Nitrous leaves little room for error and you have limitations on how much you can spray a small block. Pro Charger is definitely the ticket for so many reasons! Not to mention that big mack daddy blower looks bad ass front and center among all those billet parts sitting on that LT!
Always makes me chuckle reading the comments. So many people who seem think Taylor knows nothing about anything. He watches the same channels you keep quoting to him and he is friends with many of the people you quote as well.
Doesn't make for good content or a good learning experience by just following a set of cookie cutter instructions. I was meaning more that people think he doesn't know about the basics like methanol, how pro chargers work etc.
i’ve been watching since you bought the miata when you went miata shopping for nicole with adam. i like drifting but as i grow older i tend to like drag racing more, with that being said i’m very excited to see something different. Keep up the great work!
i might not watch most peoples racing stuff, but i absolutely love watching thier builds and first drives..... this build is one of the ones ive been waiting for, the only other build currently on youtube im enjoying more than this is Stanceworks ferrari f40 and im stoked to see what rob damn ends up putting the 12 rotor into

All I can say is thanks and a big hell yeah brother. Looks like ur going for a mid 4 second eight right off the rip. So glad to see this.
I'm so fired up for this build, I don't mind drifting but it's not my go to, but I love your content, plus I love prochargers so I can't wait to see the final product
Awsome build man... Loving this one... Hopefully you have better luck with the ProCharger than I did.. I kept hurting them when I pedaled it and i dont have very deep pockets or sny help currently so after the 3rd time i hurt it in a 6 week span i went back to turbo .. you have better connections and a platform that will help get you in touch with the right ppl if you need too ... good luck
Curious to see the weight bias when the whole rig is finished. I am digging the choice for a pro charger. I had a SN 95 Cobra Procharged and it was the most fun I have ever had with a car. It was also my first fast car so I have very fond memories. It was very reliable and easy to tune. Especially back in the day when we didn’t have all the fancy computers we have now.
T-ray I'm looking forward to seeing this car rip down the tarmac. I think this will be a bigger passion for you as I know your channel lately has been just a building channel. I've been subscribed since you bought the miata and think this is definitely the move for you!
Hey TRay idk if you thought that much about it but you could flip the intake around and move the hole water to air inside the car to get that weight in the center of the car to help with bias. Love the videos keep it up
