It is wonderful to see so many performers taking on the music of Gottschalk. What a treat for the ears.

this is the kind of piece I could listen to forever. the scene constructed in my head, accompanied by the music and the title, for effect... it's so beautiful. each note tugs at my very soul. amazing work.

Questo brano testimonia il valore di Gottsshalk, musicista colto e popolare, originale ed eclettico.

+Antonio Fabi vedo che ti piace la musica, Albert Einstein adorava tanto le musiche antiche, proprio come te! :-)

Right now, I'm playing this piece in my piano lessons. Among all the classical pieces out there, this is the most ancient-sounding and most classical piece.

Caliya Ledesma - you know there are pieces like 200 years older than this, right?

The first and only great American composer and he came from Louisiana he’s called America’s Mozart.

@@frankpiccione8571 Copland is very good but, Gottschalk was world-renowned during the Romantic Era the period of Rossini, Chopin, Verdi, Wagner, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, and so many more the list is enormous. Copland didn't begin until the 20's when records could be played and music became more indispensable to a composer's sound by listening to all of their symphonies and orchestras. Chopin was witnessed to have grabbed Gottschalk's hands as a child and say you will one day be king of the piano. He also was writing full symphonies at age 11. Copland in my view is not comparable to Gottschalk since he was composing during the greatest era of music the world has ever known. He traveled to so many countries with indigenous sounds like Africa and India to infuse their tribal music with his which influenced him as a child in Louisiana from being around slavery and African Americans raising him for much of his life.
