Pacifica I: Patagonia - Hiking and Driving from Bariloche to Ushuaia (2023)

First part of our Pacifica World Tour through Patagonia, Antarctica, New Zealand and the South Seas (German spoken/English subtitles): The 30-day north-south crossing of Patagonia. The starting point is the Patagonian Lake District near Bariloche with Lake Crossing to Puerto Varas. From there via the Chilean Carretera Austral to Parque Pumalin, Yelcho, Puyuhapi and trekking at Cerro Castillo - continuing to Rio Tranquillo with the marble caves. Past the Largo Argentino to the historical caves Cueva de los Manos, El Chaltén (Trekking Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy), El Calafate with Glacier Hike and Torres del Paine (W Trek). We finally reached Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego, from where we set off for Antarctica in the second part.

Gracias por darme a conocer una parte de mi Argentina que no pude disfrutar. LLegué hasta El Calafate y toda la costa atlántica y en Chile hasta Chiloé. Hermoso recorrido. Que conserven la salud para seguir andando.

Wo hattet Ihr den Mietwagen gemietet? Scheint ja nicht immer so einfach zu sein mit den Grenzübertritten bzw. wird nicht von jeder Mietwagenfirma unterstützt.

Wir haben die Route geplant und New World Travel Designers in Buenos Aires haben uns den Mietwagen und die sehr schönen und individuellen Unterkünfte gebucht. Das hat sehr gut und zuverlässig geklappt. Bekannte von uns haben individuell versucht den Mietwagen zu buchen und sind daran gescheitert. Sie haben dann letztendlich die gleiche Route wie wir über NWTD gebucht. Unser Mietwagen war von Europcar in Puerto Montt, abgegeben in Punta Arenas. Die Zollpapiere benötigt man für jeden der geplanten Grenzübertritte im Voraus.
