In middle of the conversation Marianne mentions to Ashe that Sylvain taught her how persons smile can be a possible way to determine persons value. Its cool to find that there are some small references to other support conversations because it shows that character growth gained in other supports doesn't just always disappear when you advance to the next one. a Nice little detail from the game developers part! 😃👍🏻

I found out about this by accident when I was playing my golden deer playthrough. There is probably even more hidden dialogue in this game if you do certain supports in different order.
Here another cool details. If you completed Marianne paralogue before you do Byleth-Marianne A support. She explain why she find it so hard to talk to people, and told Byleth not to tell anyone about her crest for now. P.S. I was having a hard time thinking, "should I spoil the crest promise or no." But decided to went with it. Lol. =P
Kind of like how in Claude and Ingrid's B support dialogue slightly changes based on whether you recruited Sylvain or not. Subtle changes like that are a nice touch.
Lorenz for what i saw as most of the best support... he feels creepy at first cause no one get who he is. Lorenz & Hilda is just so nice. Lorenz & Leonie is good too they both evolve a lot in it

Why is every character so thoroughly written in voice when there's like over 40 of them or something? This must have taken a ridiculous amount of work. This is such a monumental game for Nintendo, it simply can't be overstated. I'm 30 hours in, not even at the time skip yet and there's still so much I haven't seen. I'm playing Blue Lions and I could literally play the same house over again with entirely different classes for every single character, and fulfill different supports and recruit different characters from other houses and they all will have conversations and supports with each other. Of course you could play all the other houses to get the replay value, but even if you stick to one class for multiple plays, there is still such a crazy amount of variety.
Lol, look up some of the interviews with Joe, the guy behind Claude... Since space issues arent a problem anymore, I can see a few things 1. Voice actors having their recording equipment at home 2. IS definitely created a system to reduce the amount of work they'd have to do for each support 3. IS also had a minimal animation pipeline that they could reuse for all of these supports. For sure there are added tidbits here and there that make things more difficult to say, make this whole support stuff to run smoother but considering how they voiced almost all of the lines from FE Echoes, :/ this was already all totally possible for IS to do
The thing that stood out to me is I got a fully voice acted line because I recruited Dorothea to GD but not Ferdinand, so even if you recruit every student into every house you still won’t even hear every line. This was one of the most impactful lines in the game for me too.
He's my second option for her, if it weren't for the fact she's in a different House (so it depends on me recruiting her in the first place for them to interact) and the whole he dies if I don't pick Blue Lions...

Best girl, without question. She instantly garnered my sympathy with her baggy eyes, her lack of confidence and her social awkwardness, and her growth as a character time-skip is absolutely beautiful and makes you feel so happy because she becomes better. Also, I ship her and Lorenz. Lorenz sees Marianne as she is and thinks she’s perfect. Plus she’s voiced by the same person who voiced Haru from Persona 5.
I like her a lot. There’s this sad theory that besides the Golden Deer route, if you don’t recruit her in the other paths, it’s possible that she either ended her life (I guess she was praying for her death in Byleth conversation all along?), or she eventually turned into a demonic beast in the forest just waiting to be killed (because of her crest causing her to turn into a demonic beast)

I played the Black Eagles, actually church route, first and I didn’t know anything about Marianne. Then on my second play through I got her and she looked depressed but I was busy building my stats to get all of the other characters. Then I read somewhere that she admits that all those times she was praying, it was for her death. I maxed out every single support I could get for her. Someone, somehow, she was going to get a happy ending.
sad fact, if you don’t recruit her into the house you’re in (excluding golden deer obviously) she’s never seen from after the timeskip, it’s safe to say what happened to her but i’ll let you draw your own conclusions

I was surprised with how deep and good Marianne and Dimitri support is, like, its probably best supports both of them have aside of Byleth. They understand each other pain because both are in critical stage of "survivors guilt"
I didn't immediately like Marianne. But then saw how sweet even some of her C-supports were, like with Ignatz, and she grew a little. Then got to time skip, and saw a couple A-supports, and now she is de-facto best character in the game to me. In fact, the ONLY character I will recruit just to make sure she doesn't die. Anyone else I recruit, it is to fill a role.
Despite being self-loathing, Marianne is probably one of the most talented students in the game (based on the in-game stat), She is fluent with swords, faith, horse riding, and flying, isn't bad with axes, bows, and reason, and lances is unlockable. This opens up her paths to a lot of classes, specially mastered ones. With some investment, she can be changed to almost any master tier classes except great knight (war master not considered because it is male-only anyways). The only problem is that her stat growth leans towards magics, but then again you can feed her items to patch that. But the reason I like her is solely that she has grown a lot after 5 years and has overcome her weaknesses. Professor is so proud Btw Hilda x Marianne took me by surprise.
in my second GD run, I made Marianne a wyvern rider so she could match with Claude cause i love those two’s relationship so much. She’s strong enough to knock out almost all the bosses- Plus with a physical weapon she can actually activate her crest. And it surprisingly activates very often.
I've consistently had her as my Holy Knight, carrying her shortsword Hero's Relic while riding on Dorte (I know the unit horses aren't given any real names, but given how precious he is to her I thought it'd be fitting). She's been an absolute godsend in battle.
Oh geez, Marianne does make a good couple with everyone. Anyway, I think she must stay with Linhardt. He's so sweet and interested in her asides her crest, their ending is also super wholesome. Plus, they have some cute special convos when you invite both of them to eat together
I like Dimitri and Marianne's supports, but I'm sorry. Ignatz is 100% the most natural pairing for her. Their personalities just... Work. He's the one guy who gets her out of her shell by meeting her where she is. He doesn't tell her to smile or pressure her to speak directly. He knows what makes her happy, and by sharing moments with her, she comes to trust him. It just works too well and feels too real. Marianne has a lot of good pairings, but Ignatz and Marianne are my otp.
As much as I like Claude and Dimitri, I love their supports with other characters too much. Sorry, FemByleth. Yeah, Dimitri x Marianne is the OTP for me as well

Dimitri x Marianne is my personal favorite ship of the game. Their ending dialogue made me shed tears because of what they both went through and would go through without the prof (Mitri dies all non Blue lions route, Marianne possibly kills herself or gets killed in the beast forest without A support). Two very well written characters
Lorenz gives me some Zhang He DW3 vibes but a bit more toned down. Marianne deserves happiness I like her with Byleth, Dimitri, Ashe, Ferdinand or Lorenz. She seems happy or in the process of getting there with them.
Some characters are giving me Dynasty Warriors vibe, since the developer is also Koei who made the warriors series. Raphael reminds me of Xu Chu, Hubert reminds me of Jia Chong (Sima Zhao’s advisor) and the concept of Three Houses makes me think of Three Kingdoms. Don’t think I am able to compare any of the lords to Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Sun Quan though.
I am so angry I did not recruited her in time of my first play through. Her possible fate in the timeskip really hits home for me because how much I could have reached out.

Sleepy Claus Some of the dialogue hints that Claude hides his emotions so I really love the idea of him feeling an extreme amount of trust towards marianne that he can freely express himself and his emotions. Not bashing any ships but most Marianne ships are really Marianne centered. I like that Marianne and Claude are balanced in their relationship. He discovers a bit about her, so he reveals his past as well. It’s a really trust based relationship tbh
Feyuui Yep, as much as I love Claude I feel like it would be nice if he had more supports in where he let his emotions out and became more vulnerable. I only really see that in his supports with Byleth but it would be nice to see more honesty in his feelings
Strangely enough even though I love other pairings with Marianne like Lorenz, Ignazt, Ashe, or Hilda; my favorite pairing which is my OTP is her and Claude. They were my first support in the game. I love how throughout it despite Claude seeming to be rude and trying to pry into her business, really he just wanted to help Marianne to not be burden with what she was born with like he was. Both of them are similar with having to deal with others who made them feel like they shouldn’t exist because of their backgrounds(Claude being half Almyran and Marianne being born with the crest of the beast). Why it does seem unusual due to their personalities of them being together, I think they’re perfect for each other and can both put the past behind them for a better future💛💙
Her and Dimitri are fucking ADORABLE together. Their epilogue is so cute too. Edit: Ok wait, the way a bunch of the guys are attracted to her is so cute. She’s just got that charm.
Marianne's support with Ashe and Dimitri are so beautiful. In my Azure Moon headcanon, I love to imagine Marianne helping Dimitri to regain humanity thanks to her faith in him and her knowledge about his real kindness, just like how Dimitri believed and had faith about her own value, luck and kindness before the timeskip. And their shared Survivor Guilt is something of very deep and moving. Marianne and Dimitri are both dealing with depression and dark ideas and they mutually save themselves and the other
Marianne was my first S support. I don't usually get moved, but to get from giving all my time and energy into making Marianne my dancer, my date for the Christmas ball, and eventually my S support, the development she went through was really something special! The moment she gives Byleth a wedding ring, I can't contain myself! I think she's the only female unit that does this too!
Mfw I was doing the same until I accidentally missed the sign-up period for the White Heron Tournament in chapter 9 since I didn't explore the first week. Ended up with S support Lindhardt but would have still liked her as a dancer. It pissed me off even more that it turned out she got a sword relic.

Actually not that many! There are many supports who have slight changes like that depending on what Part but there are very few who change depending on what support was done, which makes the whole thing even more special!
It’s kinda funny that guys in this game are so entranced by her 😂 like going in hard from the C support. Even though Dorothea is the most attractive female character, it’s Marianne who gets most of the male attention. I looove her supports with all the guys but my favorite pairing is Dimitri x Marianne. Lindhart was super aggressive-creepy almost 🤣 but I also ship him with Marianne.

Her growth is the best in the game. For being self destructive internally to literally being a unit staple and her versaility. I just started and i ship her with Claude

@@rossh2141 Late comment but basically you can invite 2 units you want to singing or eating as those will not only raise support points with you but also between them as well. You can also have them fight simultaneously in the same area though that's more annoying to pull off

This opens up her paths to a lot of classes, specially mastered ones. With some investment, she can be changed to almost any master tier classes except great knight (war master not considered because it is male-only anyways). The only problem is that her stat growth leans towards magics, but then again you can feed her items to patch that.
But the reason I like her is solely that she has grown a lot after 5 years and has overcome her weaknesses. Professor is so proud

in my second GD run, I made Marianne a wyvern rider so she could match with Claude cause i love those two’s relationship so much.
She’s strong enough to knock out almost all the bosses- Plus with a physical weapon she can actually activate her crest. And it surprisingly activates very often.
I've consistently had her as my Holy Knight, carrying her shortsword Hero's Relic while riding on Dorte (I know the unit horses aren't given any real names, but given how precious he is to her I thought it'd be fitting). She's been an absolute godsend in battle.

Having a boon in the most relevant weapons, her growth rates not being bad at all at base, she’s easily up there at the top in terms of viability

I like Dimitri and Marianne's supports, but I'm sorry. Ignatz is 100% the most natural pairing for her. Their personalities just... Work. He's the one guy who gets her out of her shell by meeting her where she is. He doesn't tell her to smile or pressure her to speak directly. He knows what makes her happy, and by sharing moments with her, she comes to trust him. It just works too well and feels too real. Marianne has a lot of good pairings, but Ignatz and Marianne are my otp.

Dimitri x Marianne is my personal favorite ship of the game. Their ending dialogue made me shed tears because of what they both went through and would go through without the prof (Mitri dies all non Blue lions route, Marianne possibly kills herself or gets killed in the beast forest without A support).
Two very well written characters
Lorenz gives me some Zhang He DW3 vibes but a bit more toned down. Marianne deserves happiness I like her with Byleth, Dimitri, Ashe, Ferdinand or Lorenz. She seems happy or in the process of getting there with them.

Some characters are giving me Dynasty Warriors vibe, since the developer is also Koei who made the warriors series. Raphael reminds me of Xu Chu, Hubert reminds me of Jia Chong (Sima Zhao’s advisor) and the concept of Three Houses makes me think of Three Kingdoms. Don’t think I am able to compare any of the lords to Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Sun Quan though.

Sleepy Claus Some of the dialogue hints that Claude hides his emotions so I really love the idea of him feeling an extreme amount of trust towards marianne that he can freely express himself and his emotions. Not bashing any ships but most Marianne ships are really Marianne centered. I like that Marianne and Claude are balanced in their relationship. He discovers a bit about her, so he reveals his past as well. It’s a really trust based relationship tbh

Strangely enough even though I love other pairings with Marianne like Lorenz, Ignazt, Ashe, or Hilda; my favorite pairing which is my OTP is her and Claude. They were my first support in the game. I love how throughout it despite Claude seeming to be rude and trying to pry into her business, really he just wanted to help Marianne to not be burden with what she was born with like he was. Both of them are similar with having to deal with others who made them feel like they shouldn’t exist because of their backgrounds(Claude being half Almyran and Marianne being born with the crest of the beast). Why it does seem unusual due to their personalities of them being together, I think they’re perfect for each other and can both put the past behind them for a better future💛💙
I love how Linhardt tries his hardest to make Marianne feel at peace with hersef in his own way.

In my Azure Moon headcanon, I love to imagine Marianne helping Dimitri to regain humanity thanks to her faith in him and her knowledge about his real kindness, just like how Dimitri believed and had faith about her own value, luck and kindness before the timeskip. And their shared Survivor Guilt is something of very deep and moving. Marianne and Dimitri are both dealing with depression and dark ideas and they mutually save themselves and the other
Marianne was my first S support. I don't usually get moved, but to get from giving all my time and energy into making Marianne my dancer, my date for the Christmas ball, and eventually my S support, the development she went through was really something special! The moment she gives Byleth a wedding ring, I can't contain myself! I think she's the only female unit that does this too!
Mfw I was doing the same until I accidentally missed the sign-up period for the White Heron Tournament in chapter 9 since I didn't explore the first week. Actually not that many! There are many supports who have slight changes like that depending on what Part but there are very few who change depending on what support was done, which makes the whole thing even more special!
Marianne and Dimitri's support chain is easily one of my favorites in the entire series.

@@rossh2141 Late comment but basically you can invite 2 units you want to singing or eating as those will not only raise support points with you but also between them as well. You can also have them fight simultaneously in the same area though that's more annoying to pull off
