I have a questionable everdrive, pretty sure it's a Chinese knock off. This trick works! Good thing I already ordered a genuine krikzz everdrive pro from Ukraine before I saw this video, haha! It's worth it for the CD audio support, gotta play Rondo of Blood somehow.

Did it work?
I emailed Analogue about Everdrives not working & they responded saying that Pin 1 has to be grounded on the cart for the game to be recognized by the OS.
This tells me that the Everdrive incompatibility might simply be due to the game title not being recognizable in the Menu. Analogue has literally withheld Everdrive compatibility for such an absolute insanely boneheaded reason such as that... I don't know who's making these choices at Analogue, but that is bout the dumbest damn thing I can fathom.
I do wonder though if a mod could be done to the Everdrive by connecting Pin 1 to the ground pin with a small jumper wire & see if that fixes the problem?
Interesting. And, yeah. Odd that they made a console that would not work with everdrives. Especially since this is the first console they've released that is notorious for having rare/highly priced/hard to find second hand games.
I would not have expected this compatibility issue to exist where all other consoles they have made just worked with them.
@JustMeDashV Agreed.... I really don't get this new direction the company is going in, aka less quality control & less of a focus on overall compatibility.
It's like they're starting to ignore the very market they're focused in, aka the Retro market. It makes zero sense for them to not fully focus on Everdrive compatibility.

Ah. I will try it out. When it did not detect it at all, it made me think it did not work.
My easy way is just to get one of the common Japanese PC Engine games as hotswapping...
