The reason Leafy sounds like a boy is because she, along with all the other original characters, are all voiced by the huang brothers (the creators of the show) who were the only voice actors in season 1.
In S1 she sounded like a girl but that can be attributed to how every other character sounds at the time, she's probably the lowest pitched female voice because the effects put on her voice don't change anything that much unlike needle and pencil (and others) (this is probably because then she'd sound way too much like pencil and match) I think BFDIA/IDFB sounded the best for her

I really like Leafy. Hes always the guy who basically sees someone and does do something good for a change, even if he gets mad. But most people didn't really like him (based on BFB's 2nd elimination) Because he would be careless sometimes and doesn't know whether if they needed help or not. However, it's not his fault if he doesn't know that because he wanted to do something for a change, just that he never understands if he did something wrong which is why he got eliminated in BFB 3. Whichever actor Leafy is, he will always be my favourite. Even if his personality takes to far.
