Instead of adding the :before & :after tags you can also add the following css to the .logos container:
mask-image: linear-gradient(
var(--mask-direction, to right),
hsl(0 0% 0% / 0),
hsl(0 0% 0% / 1) 20%,
hsl(0 0% 0% / 1) 80%,
hsl(0 0% 0% / 0)
);
* This will fade in from transparent at 20% on each side using the background of the container ;)
