Does this book have an ideological slant at all, or is it straight forward history?
To me it read like a textbook. I didn't really pick up on any slant. There is an interesting section in the Wikipedia page under "criticism", but it's pretty balanced:en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guns,_Germs,_and_Steel
No ideology at all.. people need to set aside their bias. Do yourself a favor and read it.
