  • Propagation and pruning your plant is a great way to encourage new growth and brunches. Here are the super easy ways that I tried to make new free Jade plants from stem cuttings by rooting them both in soil and in water. Thanks for watching❤️.

    My mum used to grow these "money plants" - they're said to be lucky. She had some rather large ones, like little trees. Funnily enough my MIL has the same at her house.🙂
    After mum passed away I inherited one of her plants, which I've looked after for a number of years now. I've decided to make a few more from the original and get them to grow in a more orderly fashion ... & pass some on to my daughter.
    Thanks for the great tutorial. I feel confident to do it now without the fear of killing my mum's original plant.
    Here's to all going well ... 🤞🏻🙏🏻

    Great video. I "liked" as well. I hope I'm doing the right thing by just plucking petals off of healthy branches then dipping them in rooting powder and laying them over the top of the soil of another potted plant I have, then wait for the roots to emerge before planting them on their own. It's been a couple of weeks and I haven't seen any new roots yet. I guess I'll wait a while longer and need to be more patient. I'm doing the same with an Echeveria Von Nurnberg and Graptopetalum I have. They have already produced new budding along with some tiny roots. I planted them in some succulent potting soil in some homemade plastic cups with holes in the bottom of course. Wish me luck!

    Hello good evening...
    I m subscriber of your valuable channel can you tell me Crassula ovata branch propagation in water is possible now in india ( today 7th Feb) early spring season.
    Actually I purchased a couple of Crassula ovata (2plant) is 8 years old.Bit costly.
    And among them 2 are leggy , I didn't plant them yet (though bought 15days ago from nursery) , I also succulent soil mixture, perlite and pumice stone. So my query is whether the leggy one should be pruned before planting in new soil media or after planting . If after then how many days after repoting . And the pruned branches I want to propagate in water , whether it will be successful in now early spring season.
    Thank you
    Deb. kolkata

    • @smallthingswithmoumita9444
      @smallthingswithmoumita9444  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Deb...In my opinion, you can do the pruning before or after repotting. I prefer to let my new plants settle down in my home environment for 2- 3 weeks and then I repot them using fresh soil. But if you want to prune after repotting, it's better to give your plant ample time (at least 2-3 months) to adjust in its new pot.
      And yes, you can propagate now.This year it's still cold, so cuttings might take a little longer time to root.

      Hi Priyanka... there are many reasons of leaf drop. It can be lack of sufficient nutrients in soil, over watering, pests or insufficient light. Once you identify and fix the problem you may be able to revive it soon.
      Overwatering quickly leads to root rot. First stop watering for a longer period of time, let its soil dry completely. From next time wait until top 2/3 inches of soil dries out before watering again. If you are dealing with root rot you need to repot your plant in well draining soil. Remove rotting roots during repotting.
      Not getting sufficient light can also cause leaf drop , place your plant in bright but indirect sunlight.

    Hello mam any soil can be use for rooting?

    • @smallthingswithmoumita9444
      @smallthingswithmoumita9444  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can use any well draining soil. You can add perlite or coarse sand in your potting soil to improve drainage.

      Hi...I used succulent potting mix( any well-drained soil can be used). You can easily make it at home. Mix 3 parts of nutrient rich potting soil, 2 parts of coarse sand and 1 part of perlite/pumice.

      Hi Vikas...Spring and early summer months are best for propagation. You can also do it during monsoon. During this time the moisture in air also helps in rooting.

      @smallthingswithmoumita9444  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Akanksha...Cuttings root faster in hot and humid environment. So spring, summer and monsoon months are best for propagation. In winter cuttings take much longer time to root (though there are many exceptions).

    • @muddyfingers
      @muddyfingers 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Outdoor..this plant also needs direct sunlight for a few hours. Also you need to water less often to make it grow. My jade is in balcony where it gets direct sunlight for 1 hr and I water it every 15 days. It's doing well. But do not give direct sunlight in extreme summer. Keep it in indirect bright sunlight but outdoors. It is not an indoor plant
