These type of comments are borderline silly tbh. The core of the Celtics team gave the media and the fans legit reason to doubt them. Mfs acting like 2023 or 2022 never happened with those epic fails. Just celebrate the title if you are a Celtics fan and stop the nonsense. I can understand the players if they feel some type of way. They should. But everybody else should cut the crap. We have seen them be a top seed and fail when they had no business failing. They deservedly won this year.

Why do American sports broadcasters/fans talk about "giving their flowers"? Where has this phrase come from? It seems a strange phrase for sport. Where I'm from, giving flowers is normally a thing you do for somebody who is sick, somebody who is grieving, somebody who's moved house, somebody who accomplished something, as an apology, a thank you, or as a romantic gesture. I struggle to connect exactly what this phrase is meant to mean in the context it's being used. Is it meant to equate with an apology of sorts?

It was more than hitting shots. It was paying attention to details, playing dmarter and willingness to do the dirty work. PJ was just ball watching last might instead of grabbing rebounds. How many times did you Jrue filing in & grabbing rebounds last night. Dallas had 13 threes just like Boston but was not attacking as much or crashing the glass resulting in Celtics getting tons of 2nd chance points. Sloppiness w/ the ball leading to some uncharacteristic turn over.

Steph Curry did not receive the MVP. in the first three championship runs for the Warriors. He eventually got it with their fourth championship but it could be argued his performance in two of those earlier championships warranted the MVP that went first to Andre Igoudala and then to Kevin Durant. He never said a word because he has always been a team first player. Jayson Tatum strikes me as a team player as well. He'll have other chances because this is a really fine team. As a Warriors fan I'm grateful the Warriors beat them before this team put all the pieces together... and Steph got that MVP.

Legler's a fool. He said he took the Mavs in 6 "because of their talent and depth ...." over the team that dominated all season long and what was by far the deepest. Mavs? A 2 man team -- 1 and a half really lol -- has superior depth over Boston? Boston barely broke a sweat and tormented Dallas. Indiana was a lot better than Dallas, btw, as a Celtics fan.

Ya I wanted Dallas to win, but I was stunned to see how many people thought Dallas actually could win. This was the most lopsided finals matchup I can remember and it seemed very obvious going into it.

Agree. I said it before the final started when everyone was dick riding Dallas that you’ll see in the end in Indiana was a tougher opponent. They win game one but for a miraculous JB shot and they had large leads over the Celtics in most of the games.

Yeah like the narrative didn’t just make ppl devalue us, but also totally disregard how good the Pacers actually were…
Despite it being the only sweep, it was BY FAR our most difficult series (and it wasn’t even particularly close with the 3 other teams we played). Not hating, but it really was the truth.

The so called experts failed into two fundamental traps: 1) Recency Bias: Dallas came into the finals playing very well, but the Celtics 1-8 were more talented and proved it all year long.
    2) They equated the best offensive player (Luca) with the best player overall: Luca was so bad defensively and that made him, probably, the third best player in the series.

@@mollyweir9350 I agree they probably need another piece or two, but Mikal would be perfect. He would fit right into DJJ's spot, and he's a much better offensive player, while arguably still being a better defender. I like the idea of Gary Trent or Klay as well.

Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, Joel Embiid, and Horford.
