I had privilege of seeing Golda Schultz live at Walt Disney Music hall. A phenomenal talent. I truly hope she is given the opportunity to rise to the top of opera world. Probably one of the best talent of this generation
It's refreshing to hear this well known song being sung by Golda Schultz- a new rising star. But, no one sings in it like Leontyne Pryce! Her voice is still the bench mark ! Over the years, I have listened to many famous Sopranos singing this song, eg Fleming, Kiri and others, and while they all sound technically correct, when Leontyne sings this song there is a stillness which compels you to listen. Long after Leontyne is passed, they will still use her singing of this song ad the best. It's just like saying, there us only one Pavarotti!!
