I'm a black guy from North Carolina and I kinda feel the same way you do. I got love for Donks(only if there done right) but I think Lowriders look more practical. Big rims can put more strain on the engine and suspension. I wish the Lowrider scene in the south was bigger.
As a lowrider and former Majestic member, I will always have love for South Side car club. There style is the way I like it. I just dont go for these classic bow-tie's that's patterned the fuck all out. with 100 inch lock up's in the ass.. and gold leaf ever where! for me there is no substituting good taste..
I met the owner of the that light blue 59 rag "mr nine" real cool dude......And I'm black too lol Dunks are lame they are only for people of that class, LOWRIDERS AND CLASSIC CARS are for everyone.
Anything over 22" on MOST cars is RIDICULIOUS!!!!! I saw 26" wheels on a Escalade, they looked real good. I saw a 2012 Camaro SS with 22" wheels, VERY SHARP!!!!! I saw a 2000 Park Avenue around my way one time with like 24" wheels AND IT LOOKED COMPLETELY FUCKING RETARDED!!!!! Big tires are not for every car just like lowrider tires ARE NOT FOR EVERY CAR but 14" tires with Dayton spokes in my opinion is a WAY more clean look then those big ass tires that are really meant for trucks
