Dude this video was awesome! I'm going to go on a limb and assume this was based on The old "Wipeout, The Teams"video made over a decade ago because the editing and presentation style is very similar, but regardless there was a lot of really cool information here that I don't think I would have even known to check the wiki for, especially with how little Ballistic NG is talked about outside of its player base. This video was really fun to watch, thank you so much for making it!
Yeah, I watched that old video a bunch of times as a kid/teenager and it sorta became a part of my childhood. So after writing the lore for BNG I wanted to make something like a spiritual successor to it, that's why the presentation is so similar. In fact, some aspects of the wiki itself are almost parodies of the original video, for example the conclusion of GTek's section is very similar to how he did AG-Systems, and MTech's is similar to Harimau. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I like that in both WipEout and BallisticNG war has become a thing of the past. Even in the relatively dystopian WipEout that's a very hopeful view of the future
The fact that there is more emphasis placed on defining who is the originator of a team is a breath of fresh air. With WipEout, the most we get is Pierre Belmondo with AG-Systems, Delia Flaubert with Auricom, and Holts McQueen at Qirex. And the latter two didn't get all that much story to themselves.
Well given the lore of the Wipeout series was being developed over the course of a couple decades, being altered as games were being made to fit in with new mechanics and such, it's kinda a miracle they made the lore as substantial as it is. No way that Psygnosis/StuLiv thought out that kind of backstory anywhere near in-depth when they made the first game. BNG thankfully can develop it from the beginning and think about these lore aspects ahead of time, so it makes it easier to flesh out.
Tenrai: G-Tek should take a more extreme approach to developing and innovating the sport. G-Tek and Diavolt: How about weapons? Tenrai: Wait no not like that.
Caliburn: We want as few rules and as much creative freedom as possible. We want this sport to be an exciting wild west of unrestricted development! G-Tek and Diavolt: Hey y'all, how about we strap autocannons and ATGMs to our ships? Caliburn: *Wait, that's illegal*
Awesome lore video. Now I understand a bit more when bng players want ballisticng to stand out from wipeout's shadow. There's a lot of thought that went into bng's setting and lore. That said, the average player is likely to miss it all as it isn't directly in-game, and the advertisement of the wipeout inspiration makes it virtually impossible not to make comparisons. Frankly I only got into bng because of the modding feature. Though, the more it's developed, the more I can appreciate the work put into it.
So flipping cool. I said the same for WipEout about how cool would a Netflix series be of this. You've done a great job in collating this (and my word, those racing clips are immense). Wyvern for the win 😂🇬🇧 looking forward to future videos!
Awesome video! I’ve rewatched Hellfire’s Wipeout lore videos for million times, and always wondered if someone would make something like that, but with BallisticNG. I hope with new added ships, a new version of this video will eventually be made. Keep up on good work!
This clearly was a spiritual successor/tribute to HellfireWZ's Wipeout The Teans video from over a decade ago. That said, imagine a novel based on these games.
G-Tek: The origin of everything, and just exists. Wyvern: Will achieve everything *by any means*. Hyperion: Mocks Omnicom. Scorpio: Betrayed by Omnicom. Omnicom: Telecommunications monopoly, will censor everyone who challenges them. Diavolt: Gave weapons to all ships. Omnicom and Tenrai loathe them. Nexus: G-Tek's sibling. The chill team. Tenrai: Rebels who don't like fun, a.k.a. weaponry systems because "aFfEcTs pUriTy oF rAciNg". Caliburn: Got caught cheating (embarrasing af 💀). Protonic: Half of their company got acquired by Barracuda. MTech: Imagine not liking people who save your lives. Barracuda: Ex-military company who works by high top-secret standards. Created Drag and Drift leagues. Lance Systems: "Precision Trials". Orbitronix: Made Luna circuit and the Outer Reaches project. MAKO: Maceno Island. Aster: Created the AG-Bike league (my favorite imo).
Ah, an indirect tribute to HellfireWZ's "Wipeout - The Teams". Great video!
I love when racing games have intricate corporate lore.

@@brobama8456 Don't forget G-Tech was literally the name of the version of AG-Systems in Fusion.
This is the best 1h long ballisticng lore video ever made
And the only one
thank you for the 1h of team lore asmr brother, but the mention of the scorpio forklifts is sorely missed

There was also Burnston Burns of Icaras. And his... ummmm... interesting last moments.
@alunbuss7877 Given he died from swallowing a balloon at a children's party, at least Arwell Jones didn't go out like that.

Omnicom evil, everyone else neutral, got it.
Historically accurate
i didnt even know this game had more sophisticated lore than wipeout.
banger video btw.
Didn't realize how much beef Omnicom has with the other teams! XD
Fuck Omnicom. They are the cause of the Nova Park incident and I REFUSE TO BE CENSORED BY THE-

Yo I'm watching the gameplay and holy hell this dude is TALENTED!
Top-tier BNG players are nuts, I have no idea how they manage such high speeds so well.

u some sort of BNG dev? if so, when is the game coming to console. as an OG wipeout fan, I need dat asap.
Sadly, the Switch port is canceled thanks to Unity pulling a really really really shitty policy on those who uses the engine. Thanks Unity.
