This has got to be my favorite Animals album with Woven Web as my #1 and this one as #2. It just gets so amazingly heavy at the end here and I love it.
Such a nice tune that seemingly has a lot of stability but has many changes progressively. And great contrast between sections. Most metal bands can’t live without the distortion on. Also the time seems like it’s mainly 8/8 but they are hitting such nuance within that basic time. And the clear tone section is in 3/4 then 5/4. Seemingly two separate songs combined perfectly
The transition from Javier's soft part 1:58 into the heavy part is such a nice transition into the solo that sounds like it's gonna end and hits you in the face for a second round (so sick) and Matt's playing was dynamic too. Also, I know I'm not the only one to notice the resemblance of "Gavin DeGraw - I Don't Want To Be" at the start, 0:00 th-cam.com/video/8gFCW3PHBws/w-d-xo.html more like a metal version haha
Listening to this entire album while going for a drive yesterday, my son said "I keep forgetting they're instrumental".. which would seem an odd thing to say for anyone who hasn't listened to their music. Ridiculously great on so many levels.
Omg this was my driving album! Reminds me of when my dreams of being a musician seemed idyllic but attainable. Picking up my gf across Nashville and making that drive a lot
