I have a question directly for you, Agadmator, about something you said in your Morphy saga. In the Morphy saga that you've made all that time ago, you said that if you grow enough as a channel and become big enough to afford it, you might even create with Netflix a series about Paul Charles Morphy, because you want people to really be able to appreciate it. Maybe with Netflix, maybe something else, but that was the Idea. So what I want to ask is: Is that still something you'd consider doing? Is it not? Does it depend on how many people want it? Etc. I'd really appreciate it - if by any chance you see this comment - that you'll address this question in one of your next videos. (Although there are many comments so I understand if you won't see, and I'll try to bring it up in a different time.) (If you want to see where you said such a thing, here's the link 👇. I appreciate you taking the time to tell me that
As much as I really don’t like FIDE, yeah, good on them for allowing the greatest chess player of our time to engage in their little tournament. Otherwise they’d be robbing us of some of the greatest chess.
@@mark5071I hope so because I personally want to see a WC be dethroned for once instead of settling for these sham championships. Would be an utter shame if he’s already past his prime, but I doubt it, he’s still the #1 rated player in the whole world, plus he held all 3 at one point, before he stopped caring because FIDE doesn’t listen, that is. Maybe he is a drama queen but all I care about is seeing the #1 and #2 in the world fight for the championship. Not #2 or #3, or in FIDE’s case in 1993, have the championship between #3 and #4 because they are clowns and can’t keep their top talent around because they’re an over political bureaucracy that won’t listen to even the best players because they know better and they’re the governing bodies, how dare the best chess players in the world dare to ask for flexibility in the match format. 🙄
I seriously doubt Carlsen would have pulled this stunt if FIDE would have listened to his suggested changes to the format of the 2023 World Championship title match and taken him more seriously. It’s not like his suggestions were unreasonable or afforded him an unfair disadvantage. His suggestion to use rapid as classical tie breaks was a terrible idea, but he expressed a willingness to use chess960 as tie breaks instead, which I, personally, would have welcomed. It’s pretty obvious to me the guy is still very salty that the governing body didn’t consider his suggestions after being their biggest star and largest source of income for nearly a decade. This is very reminiscent of the FIDE world championship in 1993 when both Nigel Short and Garry Kasparov broke away from FIDE and created their own Chess body, The Professional Chess Association, because both players felt the match conditions were unfair and detrimental to the players, among other things. I really wish FIDE would be more accommodating to the reigning world champion, if only to preserve the prestige and gravitas of the title match, and ensure the next champion’s legitimacy is solidified by defeating the reigning champion. For me it really diminished the title match in 2023 when two guys who couldn’t beat Magnus played for the championship. I realize at the end of the day it was Magnus’s decision to step away from the world title, but for me, ever since then the chess world has been different, in a crisis maybe? A schism may be forming, but only time will tell if the divide will grow between the top chess talent and the governing body. Also so many accusations of cheating have been flying around, the chess world is not in a good place compared to where in was in say, 2009. There’s always been drama, but for me, a world championship without a reigning champion is not really a championship match at all.
10:43 I'd thought Kh1. QxR is coming and can't see any way out for Hikaru. Rook for bishop down and only able to save the dark squares bishop with a king move off the back rank. Brilliant game 1. a4 goes down in history.

Didn't look into it with an engine, but I think Bc7 works? Just putting extra defense on the b8 square, so that way after Qxa7 Qxa7 b8=Q you can just play Bxb8 and the rook isn't sufficient to defend the queen, plus your bishop is light squared so it can't help at all. A championship match with no reigning champion is no championship match at all, and I wish FIDE would realize that some flexibility in their WC match conditions would go a long way in preserving the gravitas and legitimacy of WC matches. Yes. It seems like only the strongest players of the time complain about these chess bodies. Perhaps the less dominant GM’s feel as if they need to stay in line, not rock the boat and cause trouble, because they don’t have the star power. Perhaps they don’t mind the strongest player removing himself and making more room for them. Either way, these chess bodies are full of themselves and should just concern themselves with providing the best chess they can and accommodating their players, but instead they want to kick out the greatest player of the time because he’s not wearing a suit. Makes the sport very exclusionary. It just hurts chess.
I seriously doubt Carlsen would have pulled this stunt if FIDE would have taken his suggestions on changing the format of the 2023 World Championship seriously. He is obviously still very salty about that. I understand his suggestions may have came from a place of not wanting to lose, but even Capablanca was able to get FIDE to agree to some match conditions that favored him heavily and verged on unreasonable, but they relented and he lost to Alhekine because Alhekine was younger, healthier, and had better preparation, and Alhekine’s legitimacy of World Champion was solidified. We got Ding vs Ian. Ding is a great chess player, but he has probably the worst outing of a World Chess Champion in modern history. I really would have liked to see Magnus vs Pragg.
This is what happens when the governing body is rigid and inflexible with their world championship match conditions. It happened with Bobby, it happened with Kasparov, and now it’s happening with Magnus. It’s a real shame because the chess community is being deprived of true and proper World Championship matches. Perhaps Magnus wouldn’t see himself as streamer if FIDE actually listened to him for once and took some of what he asked for into consideration. But no. More shadow championships showcasing diminished duels between inferior players. FIDE is a joke, dude.
Magnus appeared to be wearing brushed denim jeans, not grungy dungarees. i think Niemann was correct in that it was about something bigger than a dubious 'dress code', i.e. the coming clash between FIDE and a rival organization promoting/sponsoring a FischerRandom Chess tour in 2025.
Agad shared a photo of Anand (the president of FIDE and the one who had the final say on barring Magnus) in jeans at an event xD Even worse optics when you take into account Carlsen is the one who dethroned Anand of the WC title. FIDE, eat your heart out 😂
Magnus reminds me of Bobby Fischer, if he isn’t accommodated then he gets the heck outta there. I honestly respect it, these are the greatest chess players of all time and should be able to play in jeans without these hoity toity “arbiters” letting their little bit of authority get to their heads and feed their ego to the point they believe they have every right to kick out THE GREATEST CHESS PLAYER OF THE TIME just because he doesn’t bend the knee and grovel at their feet. Every great player worth their salt has complained about these governing chess bodies. FIDE wants to keep chess centralized but true pioneers like Capablanca, Fischer, and Carlsen understand that the beauty of chess was never rote memorization. The governing bodies of chess have made it like that through their refusal to implement any changes in chess, for example, it would be a welcomed change if WC tiebreaks were done through Fischerrandom or Capablanca chess. They may seem like drama queens but they earned it, they were/are the best players of their time and we should really consider their ideas on the evolution of chess.
@@d4slaimlessYou realize much smarter sports organizers will puff up the drama to draw in viewers? Maybe he is a drama queen when it comes to Hans, but darn, I just want to see the #1 and #2 players in a match, is that too much to ask for? There’s always drama queens in sports, it comes with the territory, you don’t think Bobby or Kasparov, or even Anand can be drama queens at times? I got news for you buddy, everyone’s human, and in a top level sports environment, there are big egos. The governing body should use it to their advantage instead of kneecapping their own events.
@ I was referring to Hikaru
@@theoslogos9178oh, geez, Sorry to ramble at you then lmao😅

It’s still up, you ivanchuk shill! But he’s great we’ll check him out 😂
Noticed another error, you put Brandon Jacobson with a picture of Adam Driver
Biggest news: Did you know that Ivanchuk has his own YT channel with game analyses? www.youtube.com/@IvanchukChess

Nice info, thank you for increasing my vast knowledge 👍
It's hikaru vs young hikaru
i hope brandon uses the viih sou opening in the blitz portion of the tournament
#suggestion Hikaru vs Hans in round 14. The fall of Hikaru is crazy.
In 20 years, we may see GMs playing with jogging trousers, and T shirts. Which I completely support.
I dgaf what they look like just get the two best players in the world in a match together, for Pete’s sake. Tired of these sham championships.
Defeating a player rated 300 points higher with 1. a4 🫣☠️ What a feat!
hmm does Agad delete comments or is it youtube that does?
Smallville was a douch on ICC in 2001.
1,a4
Fair game
TH-cam.
1. a3 the grand opening, sounds like a ribbon cutting event for a new superstore. Gotta love Mr. Anderssen. 👍
There are other big things like sticking to your principals and not letting fide push him around for no good reason.
Magnus opening tomorrow:
C88 Denim opening, relaxed fit variation, riveted pockets, Wrangler fortress, cowboy boots addition
WITH SPURS
And a ten gallon hat
Updating the dress code is fair and this one seems appropriate! Great game, too! Cheers!
Agad shared a photo of Anand (the president of FIDE and the one who had the final say on barring Magnus) in jeans at an event xD Even worse optics when you take into account Carlsen is the one who dethroned Anand of the WC title. FIDE, eat your heart out 😂
Why can't the Q take the rook on A7? Then QxQ and white promotes?
Wow. Unexpected move from both sides of disagreement. Although it was bad publicity for both FIDE and Carlsen. Big news indeed!
@@trevorrogers95 Nah, sorry, no one "earns" to be a drama queen.
@@d4slaimlessYou realize much smarter sports organizers will puff up the drama to draw in viewers? Not to mention much smarter sports organizers will try to keep their top talent around instead of treating them like plebs. It’s not like Carlsen is being a Karen in public. He’s throwing his weight around in the chess world because he is the #1 player. At the very least reasonably accommodate the WC, so the match can be organized and, you know, actually happen instead of settling for diminished duels between lesser players.
ignore him mate. Hes a little troll stuffed up magnus's ass@@d4slaimless
@@trevorrogers95 I realize that i don't like drama queens. And I don't think it is something that you earn. People earn respect, earn their paycheck etc. Withing reasons one can have their quirks. Being a jerk though isn't becoming of a big person.
A beautiful game of the elo factor of the 2800s white had a strategy and no matter the level no matter how many mistakes, blunders and miss there is you are shifting so let the chief and head programmer show you a true insight since 2005 where you see the point all references must be concentrated to the objects in all reactions for the shift for the best conclusion.😮my book is coming with new rules, numbers and meanings with a full 2005 conception.😊

Can’t wait to see Magnus in the Seinfeld puffy shirt. And jeans.
Our Good friend the Bishop. I love that
While NYC has historically been a Chess capitol, it must never again be used as such.
Vegas is far better and people do not catch on fire every week there. Always wear cotton clothing in NYC.
check hans neiman and Hikaru
Speaking of Morphy.....we haven't had a Morphy head in quite a while
Hmm, yeah, what happened to Morphy head?
He said a while ago that he doesn't want it to lose its specialness. Only for the best of the best of games.
Jesus is Wesley So.
Mohammed is Magnus Carlsen.
Merry Christmas Hanukkah Kwanzaa and New Year!
This is all blasphemous but Magnus would be Jesus, Wesley would be sun zu or Confucius, obviously, Bassem Amin would be Mohammad, and Anand would be Shiva or Vishnu, obviously 😅
@trevorrogers95 riiiight because jesus is closer to Norwegian / white / European / western than Asian / eastern / Filipinx / Chinese. Cool story bro sis sib.
bassem Amin is the only superGM medical doctor and never cheated or baselessly accused anyone. Among bassem Vishy Magnus Wesley only 1 person is closest in personality to Mohammed.
