Does Stephen Vogt NEED to find a way to get Jhonkensy Noel in the lineup EVERY NIGHT?

  • Jhonkensy Noel had 2 home runs in 14 at bats this far since being called up, so should Stephen Vogt find some more plate appearances for him? He has struck out 7 times though. Whether Noel gets more playing time or not, should the Guardians be looking for a power bat to get before the trade deadline?

Seven strikeouts in fourteen at bats isn’t going to cut it.

Jhonk is Pedro from Major League. Guy can hit fastballs for home runs, but can't off speed pitches to save his life.

That's false. Maybe you should go look at how many hits he has from Off speed pitches this year. Or possibly how many balls he's murdered for Dingers...

Is he the first Noel of MLB?

No. He's up in the bigs because Brennan is on the IL. Noel has great power, but don't let it fool you into thinking he's a Major Leaguer yet. I say "yet" because he needs more development. A lot more. But if he develops and stops swinging at sliders that bounce in the opposite side batters box, then yes he can be a regular. But now? No. He's got to share time. Royals just kicked our butts taking three of four, and in two of those losses, we didn't really compete very well. We don't have time to develop guys when we are trying to hold the lead in the division.

With some timely hitting, The Guards would have won game one and split the series. McKenzie and Allen were not very good,

@@George50809 I agree with you. But I was answering the question of whether Jhonkensy Noel should get regular at bats. My answer is no, not after Brennan comes back because we are still in a fight for the division. We don't have the luxury of developing guys at the Major League level. If we were up by 15 games maybe. But not when we are up only six games on Minnesota and seven on KC.
Believe me, I fully realize McKenzie and Logan are not good. I went to the final three games in KC.
