Interest Rate Hikes do not Lower Prices. Especially when it is just corporate gouging.

Higher unemployment doesn’t mean inflation will come down. Prices are still going to be high. It’s not coming down. It just means people can’t afford them anymore. More crime and a lot more pain and suffering. This federal reserve has done the unthinkable and the irreversible.

Possible but not likely with all the market instability, it's not all about domestic

This inflation is made by corporate greed, not supply and demand nor the average person has too much money nor the price of oil and gas. Laws need to be made to prevent corporate from buying houses to rent them out and price gauging for no reason.

Just in case anyone is still keeping track:
Full-time employment in June actually FELL by -28,000 workers
Meanwhile, part-time employment in June jumped by another +50,000 workers.
In May, full-time employment actually fell by a whopping -625,000 workers.
Meanwhile, part-time employment rose by +286,000 workers in May.
All while the unemployment rate is now up from 3.4% to 4.1% in just over a year.
The reality is that a RECORD number of people are working multiple jobs to "fight" inflation.
How is this a "strong" economy?

@@yvonneplant9434 Yeah, you can't just look at Inflation (one Data Point) and compare the Economy of the 1980s to Today since Wages have been stagnant since 1980 and the costs of Housing, Education and Healthcare have skyrocketed. A 5% Inflation on a $400 Grocery Bill is much worse than a 10% Inflation on a $40 Grocery Bill.

Question: How did the Fed manage to tame inflation when US Federal Debt and Consumer Debt keep rising?

This economy is great for all those who have the drive to take advantage of the opportunities presented. For the losers the overall economy can never be good enough, they are always behind.
