I never heard this song until a couple years ago, when our little indie station in Santa Rosa played. I stopped dead in my tracks and knew this was a one in a billion songs. I have probably listened to this song a thousand times. It comes on and I listen to it at least three times before moving on. Thank you so much for sharing this. Finally get to see them in October in Seattle.
I labelled it this way for 2 reasons. On one of The Jayhawks setlists they had it this way. Second I hope some Dixie Chicks fans will come check this out too.

I didn’t realize how much I liked Louris’s voice until I heard this.
I too love his voice. It had been 15 years since I saw him with The Jayhawks and that was way too long.
Love you, clean and sober, Gary. That voice...
It's not really a Dixie Chicks cover since Gary Louris is the a main songwriter on this song. And damn these guys are good!
And in a fair world, the Jayhawks would make millions from this song!

Gary is having some problems with the sound/his mike? He soldiers through. He is a wonderful singer and those harmonies! This is a truly great band.
Thanks for this!
great one!
Is really a "cover" if Gary wrote it?
