  • Amok Island journeys to the Heron Island Research facility on the Great Barrier Reef, learning about the ecology of the area and seeking inspiration via underwater photography, before painting a mural at a nearby abandoned marine park.
    “The Great Barrier Reef has been a very interesting place, ever since I was child. I just want to see which animals really stand out to me and inspire me to paint them. I look at a realistic image of an animal or plant, for example, and I try to translate it into my own visual language.”
