This video was so simple and effective. I have been struggling with installing opencart for a whole day. I wish I discovered this video sooner. It would've saved me hours of headache. Thanks again.
Thanks for tutorial! I have a question. I have storage directory moved outside of root directory. Storage directory is copied (not moved) outside of root so the copy of storage is still exist under ./upload/system/storage and composer.json's vendor-dir is still directed to the old location ./upload/system/storage/vendor
Hello. Thank you for the video. It was very helpful. I managed to install with a little problem. When I enter my domain name to the browser it shows me the message: Index of/ and under this one there is the opeancart folder and if i click to the folder will open my website. How can I fix them to get direct to my page when i enter the domain name. Thank you.
A few minor differences but installed the first time and working well. I did notice the demo site is installed in mydomain/opencart/ folder I presume once the store is fully configured I move the files to the root public_html folder? Any help appreciated.
@ 2:44 Did You not Upload the Open Cart Zip File to The Open Cart Folder. So why would you later (@ 3:15) have to Place the Unzipped Open Cart Contents into the Open Cart Folder? Lost Me Here.
We understand why this might be a bit confusing. This is because the main folder of your installation (in the tutorial case - "opencart") needs to contain the files inside the "upload" folder you see @ 3:00. Not the upload folder itself. Does this make more sense?
You are missing some steps - what about the index.php file and admin folders etc that are already in your public html folder by default? How will it know to use the opencart folder and files if these are left where they are?
Thanks! I could manage everything up to the step 3 - i've my domain that i bought and now how can i allocate that to the shop/open cart? I don't understand this part
Hi all, those struggling to transition from step two to step 3, when you drag the files across they need to go into the public html folder, not the opencart folder within the public html which is how it looks on the video, i feel the guys rushed on this important step
Help - just want to make sure I've entered this correctly before installing. When I get to the step to install, I type in the domain as shown in the video but it does not open the installer. (4:19 in video) I have to enter the domain and the folder name. Sample domain: sample.com If I go there, no installer. I have to add the folder name: sample.com/opencart When I do this, the installer opens. Is it going to install opencart in the correct place? Please advise. @iSenseLabs
Hi.. I Installed from opencart version 3.0.3.6 via softaculous. Store works but not able to login to Admin Panel. In Admin panel it says nothing when i enter valid credentials and not letting me in. In case of wrong credentials it says invalid credentials. Please help.
Hi there iSense, i'm kind of lost here, i don't see the .htaccess.txt in the CPanel's file manager, even though the site said that the .txt file already exists. Any way to make it visible? TIA. Edit: nevermind, i found it.
I have installed several opencart stores before but step 3 often eludes me, followed all steps exactly and when we look for our domain only find index not step 3 opencart setup, I know im not the only one with this problem

Click the top-right Settings button. Then on the Preferences window, check the option Show Hidden Files (dotfiles) Confirm the action by clicking the Save button. htaccess file will visible
