Super Junior was the best-selling K-pop artist for four years in a row. Super Junior have earned thirteen music awards from the Mnet Asian Music Awards, nineteen from the Golden Disc Awards, and are the second singing group to win Favorite Artist Korea at the 2008 MTV Asia Awards after jtL in 2003 In 2012, they were nominated for "Best Asian Act" in MTV Europe Music Awards. In 2015, they won the "International Artist" and "Best Fandom" in the Teen Choice Awards. Their fandom name is E.L.F, which stands for Ever Lasting Friends.

ya some real ogs right here these guys were the reason i got into kpop back in 2006 u should seriously check out some of their older stuff like sorry sorry, mr simple, bonamana, mamacita their music style is so uniquely them that they have their own genre called sj funky cuz they mix all genre into their music and make it work

REIK is a very popular Mexican group they've been around for many years :)
Really happy you guys did this. 😊 Super Junior is actually my favorite all time boy group along with SHINee. This was filmed at the MGM in Macau. This is their second Latin pop collaboration, the first one was earlier in 2018 with Leslie Grace called "Lo Siento". They debuted in 2005 at SM (so are SHINee, Red Velvet, EXO, NCT's seniors) and for the last few years they've had their own label under SM called Label SJ which allows them creative freedom and the ability to release music when they want. All the members are in their 30s and have all (except for the youngest member who will be discharged in May) finished their military service. In fact the member at 2:47 had only been discharged a few weeks when they flew to Macau to film this!!!!
I'm happy to hear they get creative freedom. They sounded like seasoned artists so I could almost catch the vibe that they were somewhat well-known.
@@AmbitiousAce616 -- Yeah, speaking of creative freedom....a few months ago one of the subunits Super Junior D&E (just members Donghae & Eunhyuk) came out with a video called "Bout You". When they were promoting on a variety show one of the hosts said "It doesn't sound like a song from SM." and Eunhyuk said "That's probably why the company doesn't really like it." It has a similar feel (as we heard over and over in the comments, lol) to Winner's "Everyday" so it sounds more like something that could've come from YG Ent. as opposed to SM. But luckily even though SM did not like "Bout You" there was nothing they could do about it! lol It always makes fans so proud to see the Label SJ symbol next to SM in the top upper right hand corner of all their vids nowadays.
@@AmbitiousAce616 -- Oh, and I had to edit my comment! Their earlier Latin pop collaboration with Leslie Grace "Lo Siento" came out in April 2018, not 2017. I'm all screwed up with referencing years now that we're in 2019! lol

Oh, and to put Super Junior's recent Latin pop collaborations into context....they have a very large fanbase in Latin America. They were one of the first kpop groups to tour there back in 2013. And nowadays most of the comments in their music videos are in Spanish 😁
Ryeowook (the member you hear at 4:08) is one of the main vocalists and he released his second solo mini-album earlier this week. Please react to his breathtaking ballad video "I'm Not Over You". The control he has over his voice and the notes he can reach is stunning.

Please react to more Super Junior. Super Junior debuted Nov. 6, 2005 so they just celebrated their 13th anniversary about 2 months ago. "Play" and their repackaged "Replay' album was their 8th full length album and they have a multitude of mini albums -- including this one, their newest one, "One More Time". Plus, they have 5 sub-unis -- Super Junior-K.R.Y. (made up of Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung -- SJ's main vocalists), Super Junior-D & E (made up of Donghae and Eunhyuk), Super Junior-T (Trot -- which is like a cross between the equivalent of western old-style country music and cabaret music. Its older-style Korean pop music that's all about being kind of cheesy, fun and over the top.), Super Junior-M (Mandarin Chinese) and Super Junior-H (Happy). And they have 13 members in total (originally 15 members -- Kim Kibum and Hangeng (the first non-Korean kpop star, he is Chinese) both left the group in 2010), and most of them also have solo tracks and albums. So yes, they have plenty of songs to check out, as well as numerous live performances and concert footage. I don't think you will run out of Super Junior things to watch for a very long time. LOL
Super Junior members range in age from 35-29.That's why they have a more mature and classy look and feel to their most recent MVs and songs and that's why you often see them dressed in suites. They are all men, not boys. LOL.
The last member to serve in the military will be discharged in the next few months and Super Junior will officially be back together again. Almost 3 years ago, 7 of the 13 members all reached the age where they had to start enlisting in the military (the other members are all older so they have already been in the military several years ago.) so its been a very long time since we have officially seen all the members together, but every time members have come back we have got a new song and album from Super Junior to celebrate their return. So 'One More Time" was the first time we saw Ryeowook (one of the main vocalists) in a comeback since he left the military a couple months ago.
This comeback has only 8 of the 13 members of Super Junior. Five members are not a part of this comeback -- 2 members are inactive right now due to some controversy, 1 member is still in the military and 2 are the Chinese members of Super Junior-M (Henry and Zhoumi) and they are only part of Super Junior-M (as well as solo artists) and are not a part of the main Super Junior group.
The song Super Junior came out with before this one was "Lo Siento" ft. Leslie Grace. It was another Korean/Spanish crossover song with a Latin artist. This is the new direction Super junior is taking their music now. Even though "One More Time" was a collaboration between SJ and and the mega popular Latin artists REIK this was still a Kpop song and its considered SJ's song ft. REIK. You should listen to "Lo Siento" next.
Yeah Super Junior is once again paving the way for Kpop in a new market. After 13 years they still manage to come up with something new and unique that appeals to a mass audience while keeping it fresh and yet still exactly what we expect from SuJu. They have decided to take their most recent sound and flavor to Latin America in an attempt to reach their Hispanic fans all over the world, as well as all their other fans. Latin America is pretty much an untapped market for Kpop and, true to form, Super Junior is never afraid to experiment with their sound and style and to find a way to make amazing music that's new and different. I fully believe that because of the success of songs such as "Lo Siento" and "One More Time", other Kpop artists and groups are also starting to incorporate the Latin vibe in their music more regularly. Eric Nam did it with his most recent album and now NCT's newest release also has a touch of that Spanish feel, etc. This is a new direction for Kpop and its benefiting everyone. Not only does collaborating with groups like REIK and Leslie Grace who are famous in Latin America help Super Junior break into that market, but Super Junior is helping the people they colab with reach a wider worldwide audience as well.
Super Junior has their own record label -- label SJ -- which is under SM Entertainment, but also more independent, so they are able to collaborate with other Kpop artists outside of SM Entertainment and even non-Kpop artists such as Latin artists like REIK and Leslie Grace.
Super Junior are known for their story based MVs, their catchy choreography and their goofy fun concepts.There are so many other songs you need to check out, but a few I recommend are "Black Suit" "Devil", "Mamacita", and Super Junior-M's "Swing". (Super Junior-M is Super Junior's Mandarin sub-unit. So, if you react to Super Junior-M, maybe consider reacting to the Chinese/Mandarin versions of the songs because that's the original version. Like most Kpop songs that are released in Mandarin, there is also a Korean version but hardly anyone reacts to the Mandarin versions of songs even if its part of a Mandarin sub-unit. Which I think is a shame because I like most of the Mandarin versions of their songs better.)
SJ are legends in the industry and they have paved the way for almost everything you see in the Kpop industry today. They set the standard for how Kpop is promoted around the world. They are also the first group to have serious roles in all the other entertainment industries -- setting the standard on how a Kpop star branches out into all parts of the industry. They are not only singers and dancers but members are musicians, composers, songwriters, lyricists, producers, TV and movie actors, stage actors, models, radio DJs/ hosts, variety show hosts/MCs, authors, etc. Pretty much anything we think of as a standard part of the Kpop industry was created because of them. They were the first Kpop group to have non-Korean members, the first group to have sub-units and the first Kpop group to have a sub-unit that focused on producing songs in Mandarin for the Chinese audience.
They are seniors to SHINee, EXO and NCT, etc. who are all part of SM Entertainment.

Another fun fact: Super Junior was one of the first groups to go viral back in the day. Their video "Sorry Sorry" (from 2009) inspired tons of dance covers & flash mobs including, most famously, A PRISON IN THE PHILIPPINES!!!! Yes, a legit prison yard with a huge amount of prisoners in their orange outfits all doing the dance. I didn't even know about kpop ten years ago but I remember hearing about & then watching this prison cover dance then even though I didn't know what had inspired it.

Super Junior covered a song entirely in Spanish, Ahora Te Puedes Marchar. They are killing it in South America right now. Check out some live videos of their shows there.
Yes I'm just now starting to learn more about kpop and have watched some korean variety shows which you hear Super Junior mentioned quite a bit. They are up there with male groups like Big Bang or Shinhwa (longest lasting kpop group) and considered one of the senior groups.
Yes, Super Junior are definitely variety legends for their sense of humor and craziness!!! They even had their own variety series last year called Super TV. Each episode had different guests they competed with like KARD, SHINee, and a lot of girl groups like Red Velvet, Oh My Girl, Weki Meki, AOA, Lovelyz, Momoland, etc. Then the last two episodes took a break from that format when the members picked up Ryeowook after being discharged from the military and they all went on a trip together to Jeju Island.

REIK is a mexican group that was form in 2003 I believe the one that made the group is from Tijuana, Mexico. REIK is a huge group very well known and seen as a legendary group by mexicans I myself have heard some of their songs and they are good so quite excited for this song and I loved it still on my playlist till this day.

Super Junior is 2nd generation kpop, so they are with Shinee and BigBang when it comes to the time they debuted and era (2005ish to 2013ish is 2nd generation). They have endured the test of time and their youngest members just finished their service so the group is all together for the first time in a decade! I only wish Heechul would still dance with the others, but it’s more important he takes care of himself. I recommend Mamacita, Lo Siento, 2ya2yao!, and Sorry Sorry

I really really like Super Junior, esp since I'm nearer to their age lol. All the members here in this MV have completed their military service and look at them sliding right back into the idol scene, like they haven't left or aged at all, LOVE IT! and this collab with REik and their charge into latin/south american market is masterful, both artistically and commercially.

The building and many of the rooms in the MV are belong to MGM Macau. If you check the end of the video, you'll see the label. MGM, as I remember, is a top hotel kind company that run many 5-star hotels in Macau and Vegas.
