Regarding his health breakdown please note that from the time of death of his father and then the death of His guru Sri Ramakrishna.. mostly he had to remain without proper food or shelter while overworking day and night for others... Even after landing in USA in severe cold he had to stay inside a pipe or drum till some US ladies and gentlemen realized his potential and offered food and shelter to him... Remember that those were not modern times and amenities were scarce..... Best wishes..

Initially he was an atheist.His guru parmhans asked him to touch him and look at kali idol and then he became a believer .He visited vaishnao devi temple and thought before the idol if I had been there i would have prevented the muslim rulers who had looted it. Reply from the idol-son,nobody can do it without my concurrence.It was done with my permission.
Today he is in the 16th ring with only a few saints like Kabir Das in front of him.
2nd was swamiChinmayananda-nonbeliever- he was a relative of mine from maternal uncle's wife family side .
In 1960s I never liked him as I called him the rich man's guru. But he was right if u give anything free no body would give any value to it.
In 2003 he took me to his abode at 4am for meditation and asked me to do it(it was in one of the upper worlds far above the heaven -don't know which one)He was in very poor dirty clothes and I wasn't impressed hence declined to accept his invitation. Reason was my closeness to god-the almighty.
This person didn't say more work for the society. Vivekananda's Social work and his realisation of those day's undivided Indian common people. He told in Chicago religion conference that all general workers,sweepers, farmers,poor people etc. is our brother and all woman is my mother. With this he worked on plague disease which was a pandemic situation with some his mission's brother and famous Sister Nivedita.
