I agree completely! Emily’s channel is the only channel I still follow from when I first downloaded the TH-cam app nine or so years ago, and I believe she’s the only beauty channel I follow. She is so professional,honest, and positive staying away from drama. There’s a TH-camr I saw a video of last night, as a matter of fact, where she was basically begging people to use her affiliate links bc she’s no longer getting sponsorship due to some controversial topics she covers (she talks about celebrity plastic surgeries). That didn’t set well with me.

I work in retail , and if I have customers that don’t seem nice , I think to myself maybe they are going through some tough life issues and it reflects in their demeanor , so I treat them with super extra kindness and pray for them.

Hi! I'm 55 and I just want to say I echo everything you just stated. It has become increasingly difficult to find things on you tube (forget TV hardly anything left that I want to watch that isn't either extremely biased from a political perspective (really hate that) and/or so overly sexualized hate this equally ...has left me not turning on my TV in probably 6 or 7 years. I only found Emily about 3 years ago (well around when she did her collab and put out the Wants & Needs palettes) so when I have the time and I don't have any new vids from the handful of creators I still watch I go back and watch Emily's old videos. I do this with all of the creators who have so many years of videos that I never saw. I also watch recent videos many times over. Emily is definitely the most honest, authentic God loving family woman on you tube, of course in my opinion. I am so glad the Lord brought me to her channel because I have truly learned so much from Emily and definitely not all of it is about make up. I have picked up some of the various devotionals she's shown and absolutely loved them, some of my friends I've made on Instagram have also picked up the same devotionals and we sort have our "Emily Time" together and chat about what is the weeks scripture and Emilys video that week. I truly hope Emily really understands how much she has given to this world via her you tube community and the huge library of videos that are there for anyone to watch, for free! :) blessings and I wish you a beautiful day. ❤

Agree about newborn as a difficult time. Toddlers, preschoolers, elementary age a piece of cake in comparison, but then preteen and adolescence, bam, back to the tough times. But they grow out of all that and then they fly away 😢.

At night when you and Bub finally sit down to watch a show and you're both really tired, just sit by him and hold his hand. Physical touch is super important. Even if you're too tired to have a deep conversation, or you just want to veg out, grabbing your partners hand and just being together is sometimes all you need to feel connected. Emily, I have to say, when you were speaking about your children, the way you were so genuine about your hopes for them as people was so beautiful. I teared up! It come across as loving, honest, genuine and that is not something you ever find in TH-cam anymore, at least not for me. It didn't at all sound scripted, or like you were trying to sound a "certain" way. It just came off as YOU as a mom, a wife, and just a person in the world! I do agree with you about how the authenticity amongst "influencers" is so scripted and not real. People I used to follow for only makeup started to do so many sponsored (not even makeup related) weekly vlogs that I just don't even watch them anymore. I KNOW it's for the money. I know this because they all are so burnt out and talk about the burnout from being influencers all of the time. For you, this space and this channel comes off as a place that you control, that you enjoy, and so you can choose to be YOU!! I totally agree with your thoughts on raising your children to be kind and helpful to others. Children are very perceptive and I remember when my daughter told me about a new girl in her preschool who was a bit on the heavy side and no one was playing with her. She noticed this all on her own and questioned me about it, I told her that by not playing with the new girl she might be missing out on a having a great, new friend. The next day was a parent and grandparent day and Chloe had rallied her classmates to include the new girl in their activities. I was so proud of her, and the smile on the new girls face was priceless. Her mother later told me how happy her daughter was to go to school and play with her new best friend Chloe. One more thing we need to instill in our kids is manners. Parents and grandparents have complimented Chloe on her nice manners when she would go to play at someones home. I'm so proud of her!
I only got my hands on The Needs and The Wants in the last year, and I love those palettes! My Needs palette comes everywhere with me when I’m travelling, even if it’s just overnight. And I used both palettes on a bride and her bridal party just this morning, and they all loved it! I remember the drama that happened when they were released, and while I know it didn’t go the way you wanted it to, my respect for you deepened by the way you handled that situation. Totally agree about the Daniel Tiger episodes my daughter just finished her first week of pre k and we focused on that song also I think there is an off to school song that helps her get excited and ready in the morning we sing together.
I agree with the check ins during the day with my husband. His job actually allows us to talk on the phone several days of the week so that we keep tabs on each other's days. It doesn't happen every day but it still helps for sure

When my kids had after school activities (music lessons, sports practices etc.), most days I would pack a cooler with nutritious food and drinks. It kept me from getting fast food too often, which is not healthy and the costs would add up over time! I also have several scriptures that I will meditate on daily, one is Phil. 4:8 that talks about our thought life. And there is a list of things that every thought should match up with. Focusing on these keeps negative thoughts from taking over my mindset!

My mom was my color guard coach and my tumbling coach and those are definitely my favorite memories, because my mom had 7 kids so just having time one on one was just so hard to get.

I feel overwhelmed just being a stay at home Mom with a 3 year old and an almost 2 year old. I cant work because of my husbands schedule and I feel as all I do is clean and cook. But seeing everything YOU do has given me a better perspective.
I’ve been watching your videos since middle school and I’m in graduate school now. I’ve gone through phases where I wear a full face of makeup and years in between where I don’t touch it. Lust for Dusk is my favorite owned eyeshadow palette right now and has been for a year or two (ever since it came out). It’s a gorgeous palette for those who don’t mind mixing warm and cool tones and is neutral enough to be very wearable, yet the looks often turn out so lovely and interesting. You should compare it to ABH Rose Metals. 🙂 I feel the vibe is very similar.

Not kidding Emily, I started your video and immediately hit pause (literally 2 seconds in) and added something to my own Walmart order. My husband is a swim coach, who coaches both seasons of boys and then girls, and since we’re both teachers who don’t see each other a lot until about March when his seasons are over. As I added something to Walmart, I realized my husband is at a swim meet all day today (and even offered to coach diving beforehand making him go in extra early), and I just sent a text that said “Hey I love you. Thank you for everything you do for our family. I notice your efforts and I’m proud of you.” Just organically sent that, and then your discussion around 8 minutes into this video was like YES! A million times YES!

I 100% agree with the txt/note on “ How are you? I love you.” It goes a long way. Also, once our children were grown and more on their own, my husband and I did marriage counseling. Not because we were in a bad place, but because we needed new tools to reconnect with one another as husband and wife, not mom and dad. It’s been the BEST thing we did for ourselves and each other.❤
Hi Emily, my hubby was a traffic homicide investigator and we would leave each other post it note messages. His would be in his briefcase on a clip board and mine would be on the bathroom mirror. We also would make time for a short walk after dinner. So we could talk. Our kids are adults now and we have 3 grandchildren. I sure do miss those young kids days and being creative and intentional in our relationship. ❤

Emily, I’ve never commented before but I’ve been a faithful watcher for years now. I always appreciate your honesty and the fact that you’re so down to earth! I’m in a very similar season- four young kids and my husband and I both work full time. Our time to connect is always after the kids go to bed (until I fall asleep mid-conversation!), except for one night a week when I get together with a few friends. I try to make it happen every week just so I still feel connected to some friends in the middle of the craziness of life. It’s been such a blessing to me. That plus just texting with friends through the week has been really good for me too! Just wanted to share :)
I loved watching this! I have three kids also..6,4, and 2. We also sing the grownups come back song from Daniel Tiger at school dropoff!! I’m a SAHM so kindergarten was really scary last year for the oldest but that song is a little piece of magic.
This year was quite the rollercoster for me, I've been dealing with lots of anxiety and indecision over my future. I've been watching beauty youtube for years but you are just my favorite. I don't begrudge people who do sponsorships/get paid, etc but I do notice those same creators start to complain of being uninspired/uninterested in makeup and I think there's something so fresh about your content that it feels just super geniune & joyful and that definitely comes across in an energy that I think is impossible to fake.

Coming from an extrovert, maintaining friendships is so hard when you’re in this phase of life. My ride-or-dies are either in the same phase of their lives or live in different states. Luckily I have 3 sisters and two sister-in-laws who live less than 25 minutes away. They’re my social life. The ones who get when my kids are being little devils because so are theirs, you know! I think between being a daughter, friend, wife and mother, right now for me, the last two roles are the priority. It will change with the time, but this is exactly where I need to be. ❤

Hi! I'm 55 and I just want to say I echo everything you just stated. It has become increasingly difficult to find things on you tube (forget TV hardly anything left that I want to watch that isn't either extremely biased from a political perspective (really hate that) and/or so overly sexualized hate this equally ...has left me not turning on my TV in probably 6 or 7 years. I only found Emily about 3 years ago (well around when she did her collab and put out the Wants & Needs palettes) so when I have the time and I don't have any new vids from the handful of creators I still watch I go back and watch Emily's old videos. I do this with all of the creators who have so many years of videos that I never saw. I also watch recent videos many times over. Emily is definitely the most honest, authentic God loving family woman on you tube, of course in my opinion. I am so glad the Lord brought me to her channel because I have truly learned so much from Emily and definitely not all of it is about make up. I have picked up some of the various devotionals she's shown and absolutely loved them, some of my friends I've made on Instagram have also picked up the same devotionals and we sort have our "Emily Time" together and chat about what is the weeks scripture and Emilys video that week. I truly hope Emily really understands how much she has given to this world via her you tube community and the huge library of videos that are there for anyone to watch, for free! :) blessings and I wish you a beautiful day. ❤

Agree about newborn as a difficult time. Toddlers, preschoolers, elementary age a piece of cake in comparison, but then preteen and adolescence, bam, back to the tough times. But they grow out of all that and then they fly away 😢.

At night when you and Bub finally sit down to watch a show and you're both really tired, just sit by him and hold his hand. Physical touch is super important. Even if you're too tired to have a deep conversation, or you just want to veg out, grabbing your partners hand and just being together is sometimes all you need to feel connected. You may not know how much you need it until you do it! ❤❤❤❤❤

Emily, I have to say, when you were speaking about your children, the way you were so genuine about your hopes for them as people was so beautiful. I teared up! It come across as loving, honest, genuine and that is not something you ever find in TH-cam anymore, at least not for me. It didn't at all sound scripted, or like you were trying to sound a "certain" way. It just came off as YOU as a mom, a wife, and just a person in the world!
I do agree with you about how the authenticity amongst "influencers" is so scripted and not real. People I used to follow for only makeup started to do so many sponsored (not even makeup related) weekly vlogs that I just don't even watch them anymore. I KNOW it's for the money. I know this because they all are so burnt out and talk about the burnout from being influencers all of the time. For you, this space and this channel comes off as a place that you control, that you enjoy, and so you can choose to be YOU!! You've not made yourself a product of this network and I so admire you for that. I hope you and yours are proud of the amazing, real, true and authenticate person that you are!!!!

I totally agree with your thoughts on raising your children to be kind and helpful to others. Children are very perceptive and I remember when my daughter told me about a new girl in her preschool who was a bit on the heavy side and no one was playing with her. She noticed this all on her own and questioned me about it, I told her that by not playing with the new girl she might be missing out on a having a great, new friend. The next day was a parent and grandparent day and Chloe had rallied her classmates to include the new girl in their activities. I was so proud of her, and the smile on the new girls face was priceless. Her mother later told me how happy her daughter was to go to school and play with her new best friend Chloe. One more thing we need to instill in our kids is manners. Parents and grandparents have complimented Chloe on her nice manners when she would go to play at someones home. I'm so proud of her!

I only got my hands on The Needs and The Wants in the last year, and I love those palettes! My Needs palette comes everywhere with me when I’m travelling, even if it’s just overnight. And I used both palettes on a bride and her bridal party just this morning, and they all loved it! I remember the drama that happened when they were released, and while I know it didn’t go the way you wanted it to, my respect for you deepened by the way you handled that situation.

Totally agree about the Daniel Tiger episodes my daughter just finished her first week of pre k and we focused on that song also I think there is an off to school song that helps her get excited and ready in the morning we sing together.
I agree with the check ins during the day with my husband. His job actually allows us to talk on the phone several days of the week so that we keep tabs on each other's days. It doesn't happen every day but it still helps for sure

When my kids had after school activities (music lessons, sports practices etc.), most days I would pack a cooler with nutritious food and drinks. It kept me from getting fast food too often, which is not healthy and the costs would add up over time!
I also have several scriptures that I will meditate on daily, one is Phil. 4:8 that talks about our thought life. And there is a list of things that every thought should match up with. Focusing on these keeps negative thoughts from taking over my mindset!

My mom was my color guard coach and my tumbling coach and those are definitely my favorite memories, because my mom had 7 kids so just having time one on one was just so hard to get.

I feel overwhelmed just being a stay at home Mom with a 3 year old and an almost 2 year old. I cant work because of my husbands schedule and I feel as all I do is clean and cook. But seeing everything YOU do has given me a better perspective.
I’ve been watching your videos since middle school and I’m in graduate school now. I’ve gone through phases where I wear a full face of makeup and years in between where I don’t touch it.

Lust for Dusk is my favorite owned eyeshadow palette right now and has been for a year or two (ever since it came out). It’s a gorgeous palette for those who don’t mind mixing warm and cool tones and is neutral enough to be very wearable, yet the looks often turn out so lovely and interesting.
You should compare it to ABH Rose Metals. 🙂 I feel the vibe is very similar.

Not kidding Emily, I started your video and immediately hit pause (literally 2 seconds in) and added something to my own Walmart order. My husband is a swim coach, who coaches both seasons of boys and then girls, and since we’re both teachers who don’t see each other a lot until about March when his seasons are over. As I added something to Walmart, I realized my husband is at a swim meet all day today (and even offered to coach diving beforehand making him go in extra early), and I just sent a text that said “Hey I love you. Thank you for everything you do for our family. I notice your efforts and I’m proud of you.” Just organically sent that, and then your discussion around 8 minutes into this video was like YES! A million times YES!

Hang in there! I remember those days. My son literally had night and day mixed up for a little while but eventually it gets better and they do sleep at night so you can also get sleep! Also soon she will be crawling and getting around and probably less clingy ❤.

I 100% agree with the txt/note on “ How are you? I love you.” It goes a long way. Also, once our children were grown and more on their own, my husband and I did marriage counseling. Not because we were in a bad place, but because we needed new tools to reconnect with one another as husband and wife, not mom and dad. It’s been the BEST thing we did for ourselves and each other.❤
Hi Emily, my hubby was a traffic homicide investigator and we would leave each other post it note messages. His would be in his briefcase on a clip board and mine would be on the bathroom mirror. We also would make time for a short walk after dinner. So we could talk. Our kids are adults now and we have 3 grandchildren. I sure do miss those young kids days and being creative and intentional in our relationship. ❤

Emily, I’ve never commented before but I’ve been a faithful watcher for years now. I always appreciate your honesty and the fact that you’re so down to earth! I’m in a very similar season- four young kids and my husband and I both work full time. Our time to connect is always after the kids go to bed (until I fall asleep mid-conversation!), except for one night a week when I get together with a few friends. I try to make it happen every week just so I still feel connected to some friends in the middle of the craziness of life. It’s been such a blessing to me. That plus just texting with friends through the week has been really good for me too! Just wanted to share :)
I loved watching this! I have three kids also..6,4, and 2. We also sing the grownups come back song from Daniel Tiger at school dropoff!! I’m a SAHM so kindergarten was really scary last year for the oldest but that song is a little piece of magic.

I've been watching beauty youtube for years but you are just my favorite. I don't begrudge people who do sponsorships/get paid, etc but I do notice those same creators start to complain of being uninspired/uninterested in makeup and I think there's something so fresh about your content that it feels just super geniune & joyful and that definitely comes across in an energy that I think is impossible to fake.

Coming from an extrovert, maintaining friendships is so hard when you’re in this phase of life. My ride-or-dies are either in the same phase of their lives or live in different states. Luckily I have 3 sisters and two sister-in-laws who live less than 25 minutes away. They’re my social life. The ones who get when my kids are being little devils because so are theirs, you know! I think between being a daughter, friend, wife and mother, right now for me, the last two roles are the priority. It will change with the time, but this is exactly where I need to be. ❤
