Which one did you end up choosing? I am actually a student and I'm wondering if the Rana is big enough for everyday carry for school, I don't carry textbooks but just laptop, few folders of papers, waterbottle, and some other miscellaneous items. But I'm not sure if I like the FC because there is no laptop sleeve and the handle is not directly on top. I'm looking to use this to replace my backpack
Great bag, those Sam Browne button closures are a bad idea though, those holes on the straps will absolutely stretch over time and they will feel loose.
This is a camera bag with padding and padded inserts to store camera/video gear. The button closure is also used by Billingham camera bags. Billingham is one of the most well known and respected camera bag manufacturer. The button closure will allow the opening and closing the bag to be as quiet as possible. There is no jingling of metal but yes, there are disadvantages. You pick your poison as they say. This bag has zero metal to metal contact so it is clear that the use case for this camera bag is for event photography where speed and quietness are maximized. I have Billingham bags with button closure, snaps, and buckles. Each solution have its own advantages and disadvantages. I think it would make sense if Cravar allows customers to have choices. There are situations where I wouldn't want to make it easy for pickpockets to have easy access to my gear. Other situations, I'm not too concerned about theft.
Thank you for the review. One question tho, why did you opted with the Rana Series rather than the FC Series? I believe the Rana is designed for cameras. I have cameras as well so I’m torn between the FC and Rana.

The Rana 15 sounds like a winner to me. The little opening flap wings are a great feature.

Nice bag. I like it. Maybe i will give it a shot. Been looking for a quality leather bag and this one caught my attention.
