I know that people always say how good Penny and Sheldon are together. But the fact is Amy is the person who actually helps him grow. She is the one who understands Sheldon intellectually and emotionally, but still gently nudges him to be more caring and considerate towards his beloved ones, and helps him to grow into a better man. In real life, people usually change very slowly, and less as they get older.

My 20 year old child doesn't know why eye contact is important but does it anyways because she were taught that's how people socialize. My guess is they're hinting at autism, just on this scene alone it's obvious they're hinting at autism since Sheldon has a hard time understanding body language. Being autistic yourself, you should know that autism is a spectrum and autistic people can fall anywhere in that spectrum, meaning not every autistic person is the same or acts the same but a very common effect autism has on people is lacking empathy and obsessive behaviour that can sometimes translate into selfishness. That doesn't mean they have ill intentions, they just don't have the emotional capability to understand that.
I know a guy like Sheldon in real life. Trust me, you do NOT want to know someone like that. The quirky thing is funny from a distance, but it gets on your nerves real fast.

One of the best shows was when Sheldon dared her to mess with his brain by denying satisfaction. She began playing mind games with him and you could feel the twitch building up slowly within him. But he couldn't complain without proving himself wrong. The suffering was delicious.

Same. For me, it's because I have Asperger's Syndrome. There is currently no cure (though I think I have a potential way to do so though I doubt I would want to cure myself tbh since it's part of what makes me who I am and draws me to those around me), but at the very least I try to adapt to the world around me as best I can (yet, ironically, they seem to make no such efforts in my experience).
