A lot of Texas got rain lately, I know I did. Does your 4WD work? I saw the rear tires spinning as the truck was pulling out, but not the front. When the truck is unloaded, the rear axle won't have as much traction as the front axle, which carries the weight of the engine and part of the transmission. Years back, the solenoid gave out on my transfer case, so I lost 4WD. I went to go get firewood, and got stuck. I called for help, and while I was waiting for help, I went ahead and loaded my truck with chopped firewood. Wood was wet, so it was heavy, at least 1,500 lbs, and when I started the engine, truck just pulled out with ease. The extra weight gave the rear axle enough traction to move the truck. My point is, weight affects traction, and the rear axle lacks both when unloaded. So you could really use the front axle to help.
I think Mr. Curtis truck is a 2wd but all it needs is some knobby tires & a locker a 2wd will do just fine also a recovery winch is good to have it gives a peace of mind knowing you could just tie up to any post or tree & get out.
