The LS6 Chevelle option was new for 1970, and the cars went into production in late 1969. This week's Muscle Car Of The Week has a build date of December 9, 1969, making it one of the earliest. For a while, this was believed to be the earliest US-made LSX, as there is a Canadian manufacturer car with a build date of November 1969. The world will never know what the first one is unless the VIN numbers of all of the cars are somehow obtained. No matter what, this dark green metallic, 450 hp. 1970 LS6 Chevelle is one of the nicest in existence. There are several LS6 Chevelle's in the Brothers collection, this one is one of the most unique.

My uncle had the exact same model/color. Had about 7 coats of lacquer on that bad boy. Love that shade of green, it works really well on the 70 chevelle.
1970-72 isn't my favorite Chevelle body style but the 70 SS 454 LS6 is still the baddest Chevelle ever made. My favorite body style is 1968-69 with my absolute favorite being the 69 Chevelle COPO 427
Whoever gets to push for the 454th like, is a lucky liker. 🍀 Beautiful Chevelle and it's easy to see why this particular model is so popular.

Love it the car is early chrome trim under the headlights. First or last and anything in between I will take it.
I've had a few of these 70ss chevelles with thag chrome skirt under the fender extensions for the headlights. Is that why somw have em and some dont. Its one thing ive never been able to figure out. The plastic left inner fender on some used to give me fits till I find out one plant had a forklift run into their stack of steel ones and they were forced to grab a set of some from their monte carlo stack which were of course plastic. Who knows if that's true but i love to find out those small things
I do like the saddle interior too, I've always like the European green/ saddle combo.

look like a code 223 to me, easy to get those mixed up tho. that's like the Monte Carlo and the Cutlass in the 80's.

Correct, it's forest green. I know because that's the color of the one I'll be buying, looking for forest green white stripes, black int. Auto horse shoe console SS 396 cowl induction.
Would like documented # matching, period correct drive train ok too. Let me know if any out there.

Actually both names are correct. From Chevellestuff.net:
Color vs. Sales Name
Paint color names often differ from the advertised Sales Name. One example might be where the factory paint color is simply RED but the sales name may be BOLERO RED or CRANBERRY RED. Yes, the paint mixing formulas are different between BOLERO RED and CRANBERRY RED but to the factory it was still just red. In a case where their may be two or more hues of a color with sales names such as DEEPWATER BLUE, NANTUCKET BLUE, and MARINA BLUE, the factory colors are simply shown as MEDIUM BLUE, DARK BLUE, or BRIGHT BLUE. A given paint color for a year may have a different sales name for Chevrolet than it does for say Buick, Oldsmobile, or Pontiac. An example of this is the 1969 sales name for Chevrolet of HUGGER/MONACO ORANGE is the same color as the 1969/1970 Pontiac sales name of CAROUSEL RED. Same color, same OEM supplier mixing formula, just different sales names for the two GM divisions.

Beautiful car, but why is the flapper door shut when the car is obviously not running? And I thought all LS6 chevelles had those smog fittings on the exhaust manifolds. and why am I commenting on a 7 yr old video? lol

A seal, so water won't get into the carburetor.
You guys are both dumbasses it's for the hood vent on original 454 lrs chevelles theres a part where when you hit the gas a hood vent flap opens up
