    I can't say as anything until I try it. I'm all in for it if it gets people into home brewing!

    I'm tempted to try it. More Beer's kits helped me get back into brewing after taking many years off. I was impressed by their quality. My first thought after seeing the new flash kits was, "Why not whip one of these up during a boil on a regular brew day just to make it that more productive?" Do I think it will be great beer? IDK, but I'm curious to find out.

    The major difference with these kits is the use of hop shot. Kind of cool especially if the DME is unique to the typical DME that has been available. I agree with your opinion that it needs to be pasteurized but I disagree that DME mixes better at high temperatures. I am an all-grain brewer but this past week I have decided I want to try a couple extract batches where the malt bill isn't as important as the yeast management. For example I am making a german wheat beer from DME today using WB-06 yeast. I think if I have all my processes dialed in then this beer will turn out fantastic.

    Have you tried mixing DME ? It dissolves better in cold water.

    I was thinking of Dr Haus also. If I want a quick extract brew I buy a kit, some hops, and a kilo of dme. I Cheers 👍🍻😀

    And you're right Steven. They've marked on the point everyone wants everything now. Unfortunately the missed point of homebrewing is brew day is brew day. Home brewing teaches us patience . It's a process. It's a learning and sharing thing. Homebrewing is so much more than drinking. Cheers😎👍

    do we really have to ferment for a month? since i started using yeast additive and temperature controlling, most of my beers are finished in about 6-8 days and allowing 2 or 3 more days for the yeast to 'clear up the off flavours' i kinda think I'm ready within the two weeks point. Am i wrong?

    • @NWsmallbatchBrewing
      @NWsmallbatchBrewing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Asterism55 100% a month. Beer takes time. There's a reason that the last beer off a keg is the best and better than the first beer off a keg. Just hitting your final gravity does not mean your beer is done. Too many times have i read or heard people always wanting to rush their beer and then not happy with the results. The fifth ingredient in beer is time.

    I’d much rather see them trying to grow the Homebrew industry by selling fresh wort kits here in the US

  • @irondalebrewing
    @irondalebrewing 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Appreciate the thoughts, Steven! I'm really curious how these will come out so I got two kits to try. I agree with @ladyfermenter -- anything that gets people into homebrewing isn't a bad thing, with the caveat that the results have to be good enough to not drive people away due to a bad first experience. The proof will be in the drinking of course, but I'd be surprised if MoreBeer would put out something that didn't yield pretty good results. I'll find out soon.
    As with any hobby I think there's room for a wide range of ways to do things and if there are multiple on-ramps that reduce whatever friction there may be for people or otherwise reduce the barriers to entry, that's probably a good thing.
    On another note, when I've seen people in Canada and Australia use those fresh wort kits I've wondered why those aren't available in the US. No demand? Some regulatory/food safety reasons? Anyone know?

    I saw this, and while it isn't for me, it might appeal to beginners who don't know much or understand all the ways beer can go off the rails because we as brewers do dumb things...violate sanitation or stuff like this - and yeah - it's a lot like Hans shake and brew, which I watch just to see him make because the guy is beastly funny. It's also very expensive, seems to me? Dangerously Mr. Beer, seems to me.
