A hike like this is definitely something I want to do. Thanks for sharing your experiences on this trip and showing us the beautiful nature of Canada! I hope I'll be going there someday (I'm from Germany). Any suggestions for good camping sites? Wishing you and your family a great time!
Your dad is really cute :) Hiking is awesome! I grew up in Bavaria super close to the Alps. The view of the mountains is just unbelievable.

Jealous, such a great hike. It has taken me about 10 summers to do most of the Appalachian Trail in the eastern USA. One of, if not the best 'reasonable' hiking trail America has to offer. 3500kms Total, starts Georgia ends Northern Maine.
I would absolutely love to hike the Appalachian trail all in one go, but it's a summer hike and I have a job where I only work in the summer :( -R

I'm gonna ask a layman question, just what did you guys put in your backpack? It's huge!
Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, clothes, food for three days, stove and fuel, first aid, warm jacket/vest/water proof jacket, 2L water plus two water bottles, water tablets, and all the other little things you could think of needing out in the middle of nowhere! Next time if people are into it, I can show you what I pack into my bag before the trip. -R
