We wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for farmers. They deserve our respect. Plus, it seems like a hard job that takes a lot of dedication.
On another note, why invite these people to your wedding? Come on now! After the way they disrespected her and her fiancé? What was she thinking?

Also, the ancillary industries that supply farmers with tools, raw materials and equipment, and those who process, package, and distribute what farms produce. Try working on a farm, even for a day or two, and you'll gain a new appreciation for the level of effort and dedication that goes into providing you with a full stomach.

I’ve also been taught the joys of growing things both from those parents but also my grandmother - who adored planting her own garden. It’s not easy to run a farm but they’re vitally necessary people and it baffles me some people don’t recognize that…

A farmer who is doing well owns more expensive equipment than the single BMW/Porsche/Ferrari that so-called “elite” broker has parked in his garage. A new combine costs the same as a BMW. A combine is just the starter piece. There are many other extra pieces of equipment needed to farm.
Being a farmer does involve dirt and mud, and being fiscally responsible and savvy.

And this family does know that Farmers are up there with some of the most hard-working and respected members of society, I mean they literally dedicate their life feeding the population with livestock and crops, I'd like to see this family try to do that, they probably wouldn't last a week

If it weren't for the farmers there would be no food on the table. Plus OP's brother isn't a very good brother to treat his sister like crap the way he did. Money went to both of their heads.

In our family, we grew much of our own food while living in Springfield, IL. We used half of our back yard and 1/2 the vacant lot next to us. Then Dad went 25 miles away, where my grandparents lived, and rented 5 acres. We got to get lots of free exercise and lots of good food. Great days to remember.

Hate it when people look down on farmers, I grew up down the street from a buffalo farm and there was a strawberry farm nearby, plus an apple orchard pretty close too. I know I could never work on a farm, not because I think I'm too good, I just know I couldn't handle the work! I think those who do farm are amazing since it isn't an easy job.

Josh eventually snapped and began stalking his co-workers and management, one at a time, taking note of any time they were rude to anyone, and enacting SAW-like death traps to exact "proper" punishment. After all, anyone could be a stockholder. If he got punished, professionally, for being rude to some rando, it is only fair they suffer, too,

    "Barely contribute to society."
Farmers? Really. I'd have ended the conversation there. The majority of the food we receive is from farmers. It's not just lettuce. @.@ If awful things happened to their fields, prices go up. Unless you 100% grow and make things yourself, your household has plenty of things from these hard-working families. Yikes!

Farming is also very complex nowadays if you want to succeed at it. You have to consider crop rotation, market factors, etc., in deciding what to plant, and then be able to maintain and operate all of the equipment, and also know the best times to plant and harvest, etc. It's not just tossing seeds in the ground, watering them, and harvesting the crops like most people seem to think.
