    This MST inlet is an infinitely better design over the Pure Turbos inlet pipe!!! The flange to use the bolt and nut on the front of the turbo and the fact that it's a silicon pipe that makes it so much easier to bolt any aftermarket intake to!!! Believe me, you're glad you waited for the MST and not using the Pure inlet pipe!💯👍👏

    Just finished doing this today. I used the Turner Motorsport one simply because it was the only one available within the month :( This video was a great help. To make getting at that one bolt much easier, I removed the hose to the water pump. That gave me much more room. Not sure how you all got it done without doing that! I guess that ratcheting wrench, which I did not have. Anyway removing the water pump hose was 2 min and then I just had to refill the coolant. I recommend it for anyone having issues.

    I went with the PureTurbo Inlet it’s full aluminum instead of rubber. The Pure Turbo inlet was easier to install since there is no use for a screw. So far I’ve had the Pure Turbo inlet installed in my F30 335i for over 6 months with no issues. On a positive note it makes your turbo spool sound louder. As far as any HP/Torque gains I don’t know if you gain any but at least you get peace of mind that it won’t give out like the factory one.

      My Pure inlet slowly worked its way out of the turbo because it wasn't bolted in place. My best guess was the engine rocking caused it to slowly back it's way out of the front of the turbo over time. I ended up using the bolt and tightening the 10mm nut against the welded flange on the Pure inlet right where it fits in the turbo. I definitely agree on the amazing sounds the aluminum inlet makes though!!!

      With Mikey! Well so far I haven’t had any issues. I was concerned about the no bolt issue as well. I even went as far as contacting the manufacturer (PureTurbo)asking if that was normal, which they stated that’s how they made it obviously. PureTurbo even advised me that so far they haven’t had any complaints nor issue going boltless, even with a Pureturbo stage 2 upgrade. I guess you were just unfortunate to have that issue happen to you. And to clarify I went with the Option 2 Pureturbo inlet.

      Pure have revised things and it has a mounting bolt flange now. I went MST as data logging showed a tiny advantage over the pure. Kinda gutted won't get to hear the sounds the pure makes though with the MST probably insulating it all/not being sonorous like the aluminium pipe

    I had a very difficult time getting the EGR connection to the inlet fasted with the provided screw. I must of dropped that screw, lock washer, and flat washer 10 times. I ended up loosening up the small hose clamp and removing the aluminum coupling from the inlet. I then removed the EGR hose and connected them off of the car. I put a very light coat of oil on the aluminum coupling and slid it right back into the inlet hose. Tightening that clamp with a 8mm ratcheting wrench was a lot easier to me than aligning those holes blindly and getting that 4mm screw started with all of the hoses in the way. I highly suspect that getting the inlet in the car would be a lot easier with that aluminum coupling off, but getting the hose rotation right to not stress the EGR hose might be a little more tricky with it removed.

    You’re not kidding about the pcv breaking. I installed a catch-can system and when removing the old pcv hose, it completely disintegrated with hardly any force applied. I hoped to save it to go back to stock eventually but...nope lol.
    P.S. you need a catch-can or AOS system 👍🏻

    Great video, really good help to doing it. I had a hard time getting to the 10mm on the turbo since I dont habe a swivel, but managed to do it with a ratchet... 2 clicks at a time haha. Also, the bolt connecting the pcv line to the inlet wasnt a t20 on mine, i think it was something like a 7mm with phillips interior.
    Thanks Bryan my Pure Inlet option 2 fitted perfect with my BMS intake 👌🏻

    I went pure inlet about a year ago and the difference showed up in my MAF lbs/min. I gained about 2lbs/min across the rev range. I did it somewhat out of necessity to bring my WGDC down due to living at 3,200ft. Car is 2014 M235i with BM3 FBO. Whatever inlet you buy its worth doing because the OE pipe swages down fairly significantly. This new MST pipe looks better than the older aluminum pure piece, but obviously wasn't available at the time.

    Q:I have a stock M2 Lci busted my pipe and got fixed under warranty. Now broke again after 30-40k miles. The question is, if I upgrade to the stronger inlet could that damage something mayor if I do a strong pull like the last 2 times the oem pipe broke. Basically, what gives?

    can you convert the pcv valve into an AN line? I saw a video about inserting a oil catch can on an M3 which takes it the PCV valve hose and makes them all rubber.... but AN lines would be the best option if there is a way to do it....

    Bought V2 for stock N55 turbo on my M2. Forum testing consensus was nothing to lose by going larger ID, do you see it being a problem? One of main points of getting turbo inlet done for me was to reduced restriction rather than material durability, though it is better as you say. Cheers

    • @typejlb
      @typejlb 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      littleAZN248 I’m pretty sure it’s not even a big difference. Everyone who ownes a N55 know the engine gets really hot. It’s not like the N20 which has allot more space. At the end I’m sure it comes down to preference. Some will argue that they would take a aluminum pipe any day due to the fact it's not going to deform, start to have reliability issues, bend or get kinked and reduce the flow area.

    This is not a little tight, it is ALOT tight. Very tight. Also, just buy the crankcase breather hose, it WILL break. Do not buy the Rein aftermarket version as the heather on it is fake and will cause a CEL. Buy an OEM BMW crankcase hose only.
