In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. Why is it so addictive to watch you scrapping? I also find it motivating. Here in BC Canada recycling cans and bottles is really good money. At 70 and retired woman, that is all I can do to make ends meet. Thank you for the motivation, Mike. I would be rich if I could pick up all those cans, bottles and juice boxes.

Just as I was sitting here being bummed out because it’s cold and snowing, I see a notification for my favorite diver! 😊 Thanks for putting a smile on my face, now I can brave the cold and head to town for animal feed.

That aluminum "bell" is an urn for flowers and such, take it to a welding shop and have it tig welded, it's worth a good chunk of change!

I like to see you go from 5:00 in the morning until 8:00 at night start at dark and finish at dark head as much as you can but you have to organize it you'll get more in there I know how it works you'll find a little stuff and then you start finding the big stuff pictures of suggestion but I would like to watch that and thank you for your video I do enjoy watching them

The Garden Ridge reference had me cracking up! I used to work for the original one that was just south of New Braunfels. Worked in their tool department many, many moons ago.
Worked for the original owner Mr White I believe was his last name way before they got bought out and became At Home.
It actually started out as a cement and gardening center where they sold cement mold products like heavy duty bird baths and before they expanded to Houston etc.
His daughter was one of his main buyers and at first they started importing from Mexico and then expanded to China, etc.
It is like night and day compared to what they sell in the At Home stores!
A friend of mine whose family moved to Texas from Connecticut used to call it Garbage Ridge!
Fun times, there is a dance called the Bluebonnet Palace and they had bands there in the huge dance hall part a two story bar in the middle and an actual arena for the Bronc and bull riding attached to it.
Can't tell you how many times my friends and I would go there for happy hour and end up shutting the place down at 2 a.m.
Just glad I made it through my twenties.
@oldschool ace i used to shop at garden ridge in the 80´s. My apartment looked like a wicker basket had exploded. Remember the Papasan chairs? My friends Lori and Tracey worked there so I’d stop by. Good times at the Bluebonnet Palace. Remember Clifton Jansky and the Drifters?

having a drone channel myself mike i can tell you those are cheap toy drones but still fun to play around with,new they most likely cost anywhere from $30 to $50 each depending on where they were purchased
Never boring, love watching you pick. I like how that guy came out & said no not that, I need that. Love the content & commentary, watch yo head, watch yo head Mike. That is a lot of wire but how do you strip that with barnacles & such? Those drones could save you some time, just fly them over open tops & see what's in them, save on gas & we both know how high gas prices are.

I dont mean to be crude or unfeeling, I know the Ukrainians are suffering greatly due to a sadistic and irŕesponsible person. But i do think about all of the metal scrap laying around. I just someone would stop the destruction and raping and killing. Lets love one another and see if we cant make this world a better place.

Mike here in jersey u don't need a license to scrap air conditioning units however when it comes to the freon u can't cut or pop freon lines u have to either drain them into a tank or take em to a recycler that will drain them for you I believe if u are caught letting freon hit the air it's a 10k fine from epa so it's not worth it nor is it good for environment I only take units when I've been told they are empty by the hvac guys I deal with. i'll bet that floating armored control cable has stainless steel bolts holding the individual armor clamshells on it. even with barnacles, the bolts are still shiny. that's a hint and a half they are the good stainless steel. there's enough of them, it should be well worth some time with an impact driver removing them. that is one big ass aluminum loving cup trophy, i'll tell you what. just drill a hole through the base and top, and bolt them together for an awesome floral display piece, or put a plaque with yer name on the base and put it on a shelf in yer garage as a 1st place trophy for bestest dumpster diver on the youtube thingy-ma-bob. 😁
