Saw MAITA live at SXSW this year and was just in love by the music. In a sea of punk and overly-ambitious bands that just seem to make noise for the sake of making noise, this was a breath of fresh air. I could see people in the crowd stop mid conversation once the band started performing. And it’s no wonder why. The emotion just flowed from the stage and was almost infectious. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for another live performance nearby in the future.
This song is exactly how im feeling about someone and i dont think the feelings are mutual. Shit sucks. Regardless very very underrated music video, im truly surprised you dont have a bigger following on TH-cam.
Out of the restaurant, onto the pavement I caught my own face in a window arrangement 'Fore I could pose, tilt my chin, rest my lips I looked pissed, it's no wonder I was left alone Back in old Kyoto I pedaled my bicycle Stared at the windows, hoped for a miracle Wove through the cars, paused at convenience stores Fucked my own journal, paper and pen [Chorus] Ooh, friend Where'd you go? Where've you been? I spent years on your arm I spent years in your bed Cursed your name at the ground Clung to you in a crowd We were always so close A house and her ghost And where are you now, babe? Flipped through the pages, oh, the things I said Lists and commandments, thou shalt not have it Sipping and guilty, beer down the sink I never could manage to drink alone Laying on the futon, I listened to rats in the wall How they'd scuffle and fight through the night I feared like a child, something dark was waiting To do me some harm, and the nights were so long Ooh, friend Where'd you go? Where've you been? I spent years on your arm I spent years in your bed Cursed your name at the ground Clung to you in a crowd We were always so close A house and her ghost
とにかくあなたの歌は私の週末の気持ちを癒してくれています。歌詞がわからないことが多いけれど、メロディは時には私の気分を代弁しているかのようです。
I love this so much!
Just found her. God she is awesome

This is so beautiful. Brought me tears and felt like I wasn't the only one. Human struggles are so mutual.

Like something from a dream that is both creepy yet beautiful and hard to let go of.....this song. This video......WOW!
This song touched my soul, btw!❤ 🎉.
Beautiful song, which I think I can relate to. And the video matches the mood so well. That hooded figure lurks inside my lonely head sometimes.
C'est top.
Out of the restaurant, onto the pavement
I caught my own face in a window arrangement
'Fore I could pose, tilt my chin, rest my lips
I looked pissed, it's no wonder I was left alone
Back in old Kyoto I pedaled my bicycle
Stared at the windows, hoped for a miracle
Wove through the cars, paused at convenience stores
Fucked my own journal, paper and pen
[Chorus]
Ooh, friend
Where'd you go? Where've you been?
I spent years on your arm
I spent years in your bed
Cursed your name at the ground
Clung to you in a crowd
We were always so close
A house and her ghost
And where are you now, babe?
Flipped through the pages, oh, the things I said
Lists and commandments, thou shalt not have it
Sipping and guilty, beer down the sink
I never could manage to drink alone
Laying on the futon, I listened to rats in the wall
How they'd scuffle and fight through the night
I feared like a child, something dark was waiting
To do me some harm, and the nights were so long
Ooh, friend
Where'd you go? Where've you been?
I spent years on your arm
I spent years in your bed
Cursed your name at the ground
Clung to you in a crowd
We were always so close
A house and her ghost
Bien hecho. Wonderful, haunting, full of guilt. I recognize the face, both of them.
Ya te amo yessita ♡
I feel this video is misguided and does not truly reflect the beauty of the song. Love Maita though - would love to see her live. ❤️
Shes on a country wide tour right now! Where do you live?
It’s “my-tah” - thanks for asking!
