As a first time benchmade buyer I got the 3v grivory bailout. I hated the handle and ordered scales and a spacer (partially out of lust but necessity too) this video was great and very informative
I got this exact bailout in a recent trade, and I love it It's my first Benchmade. I do get what you are saying about the pricing it up there. For the 200 mark I am quite satisfied with my Spyderco Shaman. The box issue can be subjective because it's definitely nice to get cool packaging with an expensive item. My RMJ Gladius came in a wooden crate, a letter sealed in candle wax, letter of authenticity, a letter with background info, copper coins, ect. Meanwhile Strider ships a 500 dollar plus knife to you in a ziplock bag... but it's still equally as badass. If you can find this knife on discount definitely worth it.
I am funny about that Damn box. If Ontario wants to ship me a Rat II in a cardboard box, I am fine with that. But you should get what you pay for. The manufacturers from China get that, I wish the American companies would as well.
First time watcher of your videos. Really loved your two cents on the pricing and positioning of the knife in the product stack of BM. Didn't like the repetitive information on sizing in the beginning.
It is a good knife, but i wish they dint put a "glassbreaker" on it. Pokes and scratches is all that it does. And IF you need to breake glass with it, the backspacer would work just fine without the pokey sharp thing imo.
I’m curious about using it for camping related tasks, are you not too worried about jamming up the pivot with dirt or sand or stick debris whatever? If not, is it because you think it won’t get in there, or because you don’t mind disassembling and cleaning it out?
Agree. A tanto knife is not the best knife to dress game. The point I was trying to make in my video, is that the new bailout is a great outdoor knife.
No , 15k in over all purchases( approximaty) ranging from 40$- 1200+ for individual blades I've had over the last 7 or so years. This is the only knife I've ever been ' eager to get rid of !!! It's like holding a squishy tongue depressor . ( And I like Benchmade) great for would be skinny wearing office folk opening mail but out door work ? JOKE !
That’s the first gen. I had that knife to. Sent it back. Received the new 2nd generation yesterday. Much better. It’s scales are superior to the older version.

Really excellent review. You answered my key reservations. Thank you for a candid analysis.
Just ordered this exact model, thought it would be great for hiking and light camp type work.

Informative, professional, learned a lot. Looking forward to next video.
Awesome, thank you!
How can I get one at that price point

Thanks for the input.
Does this come in a khaki/sand color?
Benchmade Dogout would be perfect name then 😀
Very good 👍 review 👏 👌 👍 🙌

Thanks for the question. I don't stick my knife in the dirt or sand. If I did get grime in the pivot, it is not a problem to disassemble and clean.
250 Euro's in Europe. I love it.
It would be the ultimate outdoor knife if it didnt cost 350 euro where I live
Axis sounds like access.
Hunting with a tanto? Idk

Please turn down your intro music and turn up your voice. You go from blowing out my speakers to I cant even make out what you are saying
Lots of intense information. I only fell asleep at the 10 minute mark.
$260 these days 😭

Don't lie your wife says you have small hands.
Hard to take u seriously when I can only see the tension on ur blade it literally bounced when u shut it 🤦🏼♂️
huh?
That has to do with the axis lock. The more you pull it back the looser it is, but there is no actual blade play.
