We westerners managed to manufacture a very likely defeat (another one!?) by pre-emptively destroying our own industrial capacity with delocalizations, ripping off the social fabric of our countries in the process. The best enemy sabotage operation could scarcely have been more devastating. Just compare the appalling state of our military output - which after almost THREE YEARS of war still barely manages to cope with those of underdeveloped Russia, Iran and North Korea - with what the US did during Second World War, when they were “the arsenal of democracy”.

There is no need for releasing storm shadow. Ukraine now makes longer range weapons themselfs. Instead sponsor the weapons factories in ukraine. There is a very limited stock of storm shadows anyway. What would matter is German Taurus and American jasmm. These would be useful esp the American. They have a nice stock pile of jassm missiles.

Ukraine regularly fires missiles into the Russian occupied Donbas region . Russia now calls the Donbas region Russian territory. So that particular red line has been breached on numerous occasions so why the hesitation.
I think the West wants to drag the war into 2025 when low Oil prices . Collapse of the Ruble , high inflation, high interest rates lack of investments and a shortage of 2 million workers and a huge government deficit will bring about an economic collapse and a break up of the federation.

If Ukraine fell, Putin would be rewarded for aggression. Where would that leave the world? Where would that leave Xi Jin Ping? Where would that leave North-Korea? Where would that leave any kind of extremists and terrorists?
