It's such a close film for so many youngsters, it's close to their hearts because it tells their own story. Dhanush as always gives a very relatable performance.
I'm pretty sure they're gonna love (or at least like) this film but just in case they don't, it's worth making a pre-emptive statement that this film is a bonafide classic in modern Tamil cinema. Literally a landmark in the lives of Tamil youngsters. This and Vaaranam Aayiram are a duology of films that have probably saved several lives and comforted so many more. Everyone's entitled to their opinion about film (so don't hate on them if they dislike it) but as a staple in the contemporary Tamil landscape, this film is simply invaluable.

I am not a native Tamil speaker but I have watched the second part with Kajol and then I watched the first one I honestly love the second one because of dynamic between Kajol and dhanush and the first one because of its wacky sense of humour anymore movie like this and thiruchitabalam
It is also landmark film in Telugu bro…. Dhanush has such a strong fan base in Telugu states and also the story ,the interactions between the characters also resonate with us… It is a classic
