@@TheMightyGarage All good here thanks Mike, hope to get a bit more riding in before the weather changes and the Salt goes down, then the bikes will be oiled up for winter 😩🇬🇧👍
Many thanks Robert. Yes, it was an excellent trip and such a wonderful break from work for a few days. The weather and people and countryside and whole experience was terrific. Best wishes, Mike.
Wheels Through Time, is a magic place. I had the opportunity to meet Dale and take a picture with him, we talk about my Matchless and my struggles to make it run, and he said " It's easy! " to what I replied " It's for you, I should bring you to Brazil to make she work!"
I visited the Wheels Through Time Museum several years ago, about a week after my dad died. He was the one who introduced me to motorcycles, setting me between him and the gas tank of his Triumph. I would have been about four years old. I’m nearly seventy now, and that’s still a vivid memory. I was able to meet Dale Walksler, Matt’s dad, during my visit. He passed away a few years ago. I love that place…thanks for sharing your experience.
Hi Rod, the pleasure was ours! It was the highlight of the trip visiting you. Please pass on our big thanks to Angie and special. Thanks to you for your wonderful hospitality and great company! Best wishes, Mike and the guys.
Thanks Mike for posting as finding the time must be a challenge for a guy who still is working! Great to finally meet you at Friday evening supper! This year was my 13th Barber Vintage Fest and the only thing bad I can say is never enough time to do everything! I didn't even make it to the fan zone this year. For those who haven't been told, Barber is truly a 'Bucket List' quality event!
Hi George, it was so good to finally meet you and your friends. It was a really enjoyable time and I’m so glad that we were able to connect. Take care of yourself. Best wishes, Mike.
Once again through this channel I’m blown away by the quantity and quality of old British iron in the USA. So many amazing bikes but my favourites were (unusually not including a BMW) @8.19 my all time favourite Harley the XLCR café racer @10.36 that early 1930’s BSA single (L31 ? OHV) My brother has an S30 (side valve) @11.47 BSA Rocket 3, just dig that original ray gun silencer ! I went to a Wall of Death show for this first time this year at VMCC Founders Day and was so impressed, at one point they had 4 riders on bikes running in parallel. Having seen it only once I’d recommend the Wall of Death show as a must see ! 🇬🇧
Awesome bloodly vid. I do watch wheels through time heaps, That Barber Festival was unreal huge show from swap, to the pits & racing some of the junk was a little over the top in there $$$$$$$$ but ya get that @ swap meets,
Thanks very much Adrian, I really appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, wheels through time was fantastic and probably the highlight for me thus time as I have not been there before, but Barber never disappoints! It is massive. Best wishes, Mike.
😀😀 yes, as you can probably tell I don’t know a great deal about the early Harley Davidsons, but there were some wonderful machines in the museum. It is an amazing place and I’m so glad that I was able to visit. Best wishes, Mike.
Another thing I’ll add, a few years ago my wife and I went to the Barber Museum. Nearby we found a reservoir that had pontoon boat rentals. We spent a morning and picnic lunch on the water. It was great! Barber is a Mecca for motorcycles and racing. We had a wonderful time.
Many thanks, yes, there were some incredible motorcycles in the museum. I think I also missed the rarest of them all… A Crocker. I guess we will need to go back for a closer look 😀😉
Where Wheels through time is located,(Maggie Valley,NC.) is the perfect place for a large rally. There is a huge field with everything needed for large events. Plenty of hotels/motels. The area riding is outstanding! Tail of the dragon, the blue ridge parkway, the Biltmore estate in Asheville. Harrahs casino in Cherokee. Tons of outdoor activities. I have two acres in nearby Waynesville,NC. I’ve been going there for years. By the way, almost every bike in Wheels through time starts and if asked they’ll crank one up for you. I went there with fellow Ural riders years ago and everyone from the museum came out to check out our rigs. I could easily spend all day there as there is so much knowledge there to read and see.
Many thanks. It looked like a beautiful place. I’m a huge fan of Matt and the wheels through time guys. It was a thrill to see him as we were arriving as we didn’t see him again afterwards. I really enjoy his TH-cam channel and his passion for the old bikes. Thanks for the tip about possible camping and future rallies! Best wishes, Mike.
I was planning on going to the Barber Vintage festival this year and stopping at Wheels Through Time on the way down... but then a friend decided to have his wedding that weekend. Messed up my plans.
Hi Dave, well, that was not very nice of your friend to go and get married and mess with your trip 😀😀😉 Hope you get the opportunity to visit again. Cheers, Mike.
I went through Maggie valley in March this year, but it was the day before WTT opened for the season. Beautiful countryside compared to the flat plaines of southwestern Ontario, where we have great straight-aways !!
Thanks a lot for your note. Yes we were very lucky and that it opened on the Thursday morning after we arrived on the Wednesday evening. The mountain rides look terrific. Cheers, Mike.
Hi mike, Great video thanks... i have a question for you: you have a picture from ace cafe.... i have the same in my garage..., know you the origin? I don’t have finded nothing on this... thks 😊

I have seen a Thor motorcycle once in a museum in Sweden. Never heard of this marque and here's a 2nd one...
Many thanks, yes, there were some incredible motorcycles in the museum. I think I also missed the rarest of them all… A Crocker. I guess we will need to go back for a closer look 😀😉
