@@norbertk9595 Heh, I am actually getting a book out (hopefully by the end of the year. The transcript is finished!!). It's in Chinese for the HK market though.
@@AmericanChineseFoodShow Thanks. Wong could be either 王 or 黄 in Chinese last name. Knowing her Chinese name may help to dig more information. I knew this name from American writer and suffragist Grace Thompson-Seton's book Chinese Lantern (page 205). Seton met Nellie C Wong in Peking when she visited China in 1922..
@@youj2015 It's 王. I uploaded her form 431 to commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Form_431_of_Nellie_Choy_Wong.jpg. And yes, I know of Seton's mention of Nellie but couldn't find anything more from my Chinese sources.

I ended up writing a Wikipedia for her. It's crazy there's absolutely no documentation of her achievements. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nellie_Choy_Wong
Thank you! Great vid. Subscribed.
This comes across as a piece of heartfelt research and presentation. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your comment. Let me know if there's anything you want us to cover.
Really enjoyed this video - she embodies the spirit of hardworking Chinese females
This is the first time I've heard of her. What a story!
I've been sitting on this episode for almost two years, not knowing if people would be interested, guess I was very wrong.
@@AmericanChineseFoodShow The story is book-worthy. Thank you for sharing it!

Very good video. Do you happen to know her name in Chinese characters?
Good question! I got a hold of her immigration file from the National Archives and all she wrote under Chinese name was "Wong".

Incredible story; how tragic her life was cut short because of illness.
So she's like the Female cook version of Bruce Lee. Cool.
Not what I expected or wanted.
Same can be said for your insipid comment but here we are.
