  • Just a video to hopefully put Monkey Lock picking in the right direction to removing and replacing the springs in his American wafer padlock. Just be aware mate that you have to be precise with the placement of the small flat head screw driver on the back end of the wafer. A light rap will suffice.

    Totally random question, do you guys have Tool trucks in Australia, like Snap-on, Matco, Mac, etc? I guess what Im asking, what are some top of the line tools in Aus. Man, nothing worse than dropping a pin kit, lol.. Knock on wood.

    • @totallyrandomlocksandpicks
      @totallyrandomlocksandpicks 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this question is for Paul lol answer is yes, we have the Snap-on trucks that do the rounds and mechanic mates of mine love Snap-on gear, seems to last. Milwaukee and Makita are also popular manufactures along with Dewalt not sure if the latter runs tool trucks though. Dropping a pin kit sucks for sure.

    • @crankylock7844
      @crankylock7844  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rookie, you can't use "totally random" in any form. Either in a sentence or just those two words. That is a breach of propriety rights of TR's channel. Legal ramifications may ensue. Lawyer up Rook......lol. Yeah, TR's basically set you straight with Snap On. Not sure if Total Tools have a site truck or not. Have a good one:-)PS. Did the same thing with a LAB pinning kit at a job. Left 1/4 of the contents in their driveway. lol.

    What about the wafers in car locks? Are they any different?

    • @crankylock7844
      @crankylock7844  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much the same format in the pre 2000s automotive locks with wafers. They are a mixed bag. Some captive and some not. The Fords back in the day used pin tumblers in their door/boot cylinders before the introduction of wafer applications. Have the pinning kit for the older Fords. May do an expo on the pin tumbler type cylinders for the doors/boots and the ignition for said vehicles that were wafer type applications. Bit of nostalgia:-)

    • @two_tier_gary_rumain
      @two_tier_gary_rumain 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@crankylock7844 I know next to nothing about car locks but I would presume any differences in the wafers are merely cosmetic and related to the barrel designs. And, of course, the springs as you mentioned in this video.
      I see a lot of Ford Tibbe locks on eBay (from the Chinese vendors). Not sure why there's so many of them but they're cheap. Especially compared to other cars locks. Who knew wafer locks could be so expensive. :)
      Yeah, a look at the pin tumbler car locks might be very interesting.
