  • My one week review (kinda, actually more than a week) of the Festool CT 36 AC dust extractor. This unit is a beast and if I had to make the choice again, I absolutely would! If you are looking for a top tier dust extractor, look no further than the Festool CT series.

    Awesome review man! I have the CTM 26 E AC and I'm running it with the auto-clean compatible HEPA filter (205412) and it works really well. I'm using it with the RTS 400 sander, and like u said there's close to no dust coming off, it's really impressive. Best dust extraction on the market.

      Agreed. The sander and vacuums work so well together. That RTS 400 looks like a great sander! 👍🏻

    Hello,. I have to stop watching your reviews cause I keep buying Festool products, I’m talking about the drill set that you reviewed a little while ago comparing it with the Milwaukee and Makita 40v. I really love it the purchase I made. I ended up buying just the drill driver no impact driver. I have used it so much. Very happy with the purchase. Awesome purchase and thanks for the review. My next purchase is the ct36 ac. Thanks!!

      I am glad to hear that my videos are helpful and that you are enjoying the Festool TPC 18. It is an amazing drill/driver, I am loving mine as well. And the CT 36 AC won’t disappoint either. 👍🏻 Thanks for watching.

    Great channel and review.
    I am also very surprise a company like Festool does not have some type of manual explaining which hose fits with which tool.
    There is a TH-cam video out there from Festool trying to explain the hose and attachements but the “clown” who is more interested in making bad jokes, huffing and puffing as if he was going to have a heart attack makes things even more confusing. If I wanted to see a clown, I would go to a circus!
    For the price we pay, Festool should do much better to explain the hose because their hoses are also VERY expensive.
    Respectfully of course

      That would definitely be helpful. If I could afford to buy them all I would definitely put out a video like that. Thanks for sharing and watching. 👍🏻

    Thanks for all the info. I got the impression you're using the 36mm "not smooth" black (?) hose that comes with the CT 36 AC intended for use with the Planex Easy sander. Do you know if the hose has the same fittings as the smooth green/black hose? I'm thinking about getting the CT 36 AC/Planex Easy bundle but only if the included "not smooth" hose fits all the other Festool gear (for when I win the lottery...)

      You are very welcome. I am not using the hose that came with the vacuum because I also purchased a cleaning kit that came with a 36mm smooth hose and various vacuum tools. I should have shown in the video the hose that comes with it. You are correct, it is not the typical smooth style hose and the tool connection side has a specific fitting to fit the planex. This fitting doesnt fit any of Festool’s other tools that I am aware of, but being that it is 36mm you should be able to buy an adapter/reducer that fits inside the 36mm hose and reduces it to the 27mm size that is common on most of their tools. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions and good luck on that lottery! 👍🏻😁

      The black hose that comes with the newer 36 AC for the planex doesn't fit all the smaller tools like the sanders. They sell a step down fitting though. Personally I only use the black hose for the Planex. Smaller sanders I prefer the 27mm hose. 27mm hose fitting essentially fits most other Festool tools. Larger tools the hose would go inside the tool, smaller tools it will go over the tool dust port.
      The black hose is kind of an odd fitting because of the outside lip made for the Planex lock down. It's also different in how flexible it is. I keep two of them fitted together and leave them like that because I don't want to move the extractor much when sanding drywall onsite.

    Grea t video... so i purchased it... and the festool sander. Sander doesn't connect to the hose that came with my ct 36. How is this possible. How does Festool make a high end dust extractor that is not compatible with their sanders?????? Is there something else I need to buy to get these two working together? I have the RO 150 and its intake is much smaller than the hose that came with my ct 36. Not happy at all.

      Thanks for watching. So based on what you are saying I am going to assume that you purchased the CT 36 E AC model. The CT 36 E AC was designed with the Festool Planex drywall sander in mind (the primary advantage being that the dust extractor has an auto clean feature that is super beneficial for fine drywall dust) so you ended up with the hose that is designed for the Planex. It should be black and have a star like locking design on the tool end of the hose. If that is what you have, then you will need to get a different hose for the vacuum. My suggestion would be to get the Festool 577158. Sorry that no one warned you that a head of time.

      The ct36 is made for the planex drywall sander which takes a larger diameter hose, they do Mae adapters, the sander y have matches up with the smaller vacs like the ct midi which comes with the correct size hose

    The cord is robust

    • @garnerreviews
      @garnerreviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely looks well made and feels like a solid cord. So far I have had no issues. Check back in soon for my one year review on it. 👍🏻 Thanks for watching and commenting.

    The casters are useless, they constantly get caught with its own cord or anything else you may have on your floor. The handle in the middle is also useless. The outside frame where the cords gets wrapped around will breake into pieces since it is made out of cheap and thin plastic. The cover that is protecting the plug is the first thing to go, useless! Everything else seams to work as it should.

    • @garnerreviews
      @garnerreviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing. I am going to disagree with you in terms of degrees. I wouldn’t call those things useless, mine have been useful and have not broken. But I can appreciate the critique and I do think that there is room for improvements, specifically around the items you mentioned. 👍🏻

      @@garnerreviews I agree, maybe I forgot to mentioned in a production set up witch is what we have it lacks many thing as mentioned before. Doing work in your home garage...all day long. Also. I didn't just discovered Festool, we been using it for about 20 years, so trust me when I say certain features are useless. You and I can disagree all day long and that it is okay. Not everyone is going to agree with your ads.

      @@omnilife691 Thanks for sharing. Not sure why you think that I suggested that you “just discovered Festool”. Not at all what I was suggesting. I sure would be excited if I was advertising for Festool, but alas that isn’t the case. I am not in a production setup, I do remodel work primarily. The handle has worked well for me packing it into houses. Casters have functioned as well as any other caster do that I have encountered. I could see the outlet cover breaking but I take care when using it. The cord reel honestly doesn’t seem too flimsy but again I am careful when winding the cord. But even if those aren’t very strong points the extraction on it is great! 👍🏻
