I was thrown off at first as well after the insanity that is Ronald. But really this is more classic FIR with the tongue-in-cheek humor and fun. I can't tell you how much I love that I can listen to FIR on shuffle and feel like I'm listening to a dozen different (great) bands. I can tell you that as much as he gives a middle finger to people who want him to make a specific type of music, he also knows that radio play is the key to reaching as many people as possible and this song is absolutely that. It's been at the top of the charts since it came out, even beating Popular Monster for radio airtime so this is huge for him. It's made for mass marketing and timed perfectly, IMO. I'm imagining people being introduced to FIR through All My Life down the road and concluding that FIR is a *soft/radio/country pop/fill in the blank* band.....if he then went on to make Watch The World Burn and Ronald after, all the sudden it would be (to these new people who aren't aware he's been genre hopping from the beginning) *look at this guy trying to "break into" metal and rap*. It was genius to build his reputation first with those songs specifically released right before this one. Last Resort Reimagined being a nice palate cleanser and showing yet ANOTHER side of what they do. The rainbow and unicorn and this being released during PRIDE month is a message. He gets a lot of hate from the transgender community because he doesn't care what adults do but speaks out against the push we've been seeing to involve kids in the agenda. He featured Blair White (the sheriff) and Gabbi Tuft (flipped the man onto the table in the saloon) who are trans to push the message that he is NOT, as they call him, transphobic and respects the choices ADULTS make for themselves. And for anyone who has read down to the bottom of this novel, don't worry-----I annoy myself too. 😂
