I am 70 years otuld and recovering from recent cancer surgery. I picked up my old friend the Strat a couple of weeks ago and need refreshing training. Young lady, you have taught me more about guitar playing in your first two lessons for beginners. I appreciate the dedication you have in teach people how to play such a marvelous instrument. I enjoy your videos and the graphics to help illustrate the proper position for chords and strumming. Strumming has always been a weakness for me. Thank you and please keep up the great videos. Unfortunately, on a fixed income I cannot donate to you at this time. God Bless you young lady.
Aww thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and kind words. 🥰 I'm sorry to hear about your cancer but am glad to hear you're recovering well. 💕 In my experience, playing music can be so therapeutic so I'm hoping playing guitar can be that for you as well. 🎸🎶 I'm happy to hear you like the way I edit my videos together and that it's been helpful to you on your journey so far! 🙌 Hopefully I can help you build a strong foundation during these beginner stages so you can reach your musical goals! 🎉 I totally understand the fixed income and appreciate your desire to support me and my videos. If you ever come across anyone else who's been wanting to learn guitar, please share my channel with them and that would help me out a lot! 🙏 Thanks again for learning with me!
I just found your channel and saw this comment and it really struck home with me as I myself just had a radical prostatectomy and this song really touches me and your video tutorial is fantastic, and so helpful! I just joined your Patreon I was so impressed!! Thank You!!!🙏🏻
Thank you for this wonderfully understandable tutorial! After looking at many other guitar tutorials for Hallelujah, yours is the best! And I really enjoy your sweet depiction s of the strings & chords. The hearts make it so much fun! xo
I'm far from being a beginner anymore. Originally a sax player, I'm a well trained, experienced musician, born again on guitar. But as a sax player, it's one note at a time and no singing. The way I learn a song or any piece of music today, as a guitarist, is pretty much how you teach it, breaking it down into parts. And as I think about it, that's because back when I was a beginner on guitar it was your lessons that got me started with playing songs, so I most likely learned it from you. From Berklee College of Music on a scholarship to For3v3r Faithful--beginners, listen to this lady because she's the best.
🥹🥹🥹 Your comment makes me so happy - thank you for that! I always hope to make an impact on those that are trying to learn to play guitar and reading comments like yours really validates the years I've put into growing this channel. 💕 Especially because it's coming from a fellow musician, it just means a lot to me. Thank you so much John! 🥰
So sweet! 🎉😅 Hallelujah! 🙏 You've brought this song for God so perfectly-nicely taught with Guitar! 🎸 Beautifully illustrated! 👌 God Bless! 🙌 AMEN & Many thanks! Ellen with lots of Love to you! 🥰
Thank you for this. Been waiting for this tutorial. I wish you could do a guitar lesson on “In case you didn’t know” too. You are my go to guitar teacher
2:05 There's no F in your F/C, not that it matters if you have a bass player. It's a good example though how in a band situation, the F root note is covered by keys or Bass and therefore no need for you to play it. Alone though, if you want to add that F, you can hook your thumb over the E string at the first frwt, then you have F/C. It really matters what comes before and after, to make a smooth transition between chords.
Ok I am in love with this song...love all Christian songs..thus is helping greatly! Thank you Ellen your happy face is making this enjoyable even when I mess up, you help me to remain positive..
Omg thank you for another beautiful lesson ellen! My gf who passed away recently loved singing this song 🥹 I’m going to learn this asap and play and sing for her family when I see them next week ♥️
I'm so sorry to hear about your gf, but I think playing this in honor of her for her family will be so sweet. 🥰 Best of luck, and thanks so much for learning with me and my videos! 💕
Hi Ellen, it's definitely one of my favourite song 👍 I remember trying to play it on the guitar a long time ago and it felt difficult. I like how it feels easier when you're the one who explain it.👏 But should I just stay and listen, as it sounds so beautiful with your voice? 🥰
Aww Alain you are always so sweet to me. 🥰 Thanks so much for your kind words! 🤗 Have you tried playing through this song again since then? I bet you would play it beautifully! 🎶
Bow to Ellen! You're the greatest!! I wish you reach a Million Subs in TH-cam, by that time please have a meet and greet with your Patriots. I want my guitar autograph by you ✍👏
can you make a guitar tutorial for Tupacs "thugz mansion acoustic version" please? that version is so beautiful would really apreciate it iv'e been having trouble learning it and I think you would do a great job teaching it, thanks!
Hello, congratulation to you and thank you for all the works, My amazing Teacher, I love you. But can you do me a favor to give me a guitare lesson on the song " First Chrismas that i love you" by Shameik Moore. Thank you dear Teacher
Great song! I knew the timing would be a little easier than some songs because you only have one watch on. One question: What do you suppose the king was baffled by? 😎
In most online versions of the lyrics it says “baffled” king. But I always sang it “barefoot” king. King David is also know as the barefoot king, a reference to II Sam 15:30 where is says he was barefoot. I would assume just for that day, but I always sing it barefoot king as a reference to the Psalmist King David.
Thanks so much! 🤗 I'd definitely like to dive into more of that country-rock genre. 🙌 Would you mind submitting a request through my website? 🎸 It helps me keep track of how many people request the same thing. 🎶 for3v3rfaithful.com/
Hi Ellen, I love your videos! I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on golden hour by Jvke? I really love this song and all the other tutorials for it on TH-cam are hard to follow along with and you are really good at making things sense to everyone. Thanks and have a good day!
Aww thank you so much for the sweet compliment! 🥰 I'm really glad you find my videos easy to follow along with. 🤗 Could you do me a favor and submit your song request through my website? 😂 Yes the waltz-y feel of this song is a pretty straight forward rhythm that only requires one watch. 😉

I am a beginner and for me the full strumming pattern is unclear. The song is in 6/8 but you strum only 5 times?
