This is not GM 16. The GM 16 elevates electricity by 16 passengers. The movie is GH 28. GH 28 has 28 seats. It operates by hydraulic pressure. There are 3 kinds of Galaxian 3, and the fixed screen GT 6 played by 6 people GE16 motorized with 16 passengers. There was a 28-seat GH 28 hydraulically.
Thank you for the info. My father and I spent much time in the GT 6 here in the US and we would have loved the opportunity to try out the others!! Galaxian3 remains one of the most nostalgic arcade games for me.
It wasn't destroyed. At least not completely. It was dismantled and Various pieces of the this machine are in the hands of Japanese collectors now. Some of which (like the big center area with the seats and joysticks) are on display in arcade museums in Japan. Makes me wonder if it could ever be reassembled. I seriously doubt it, but a person can dream! The main issue is this is a huge machine. It requires a massive amount of space. It's basically a huge dome with multiple projectors and lots of motors for motion. Plus the electric bill would very massive. Part of me wishes it was kept in one piece, and maybe left running in a warehouse somewhere. But that's more of a dream. Lol. Only a millionaire could afford to do that.

I can only imagine being on that hydraulic platform with the game playing in 360... I did at least get to play the standard walk-in version back when it was at the Great Mall in Milpitas, CA... but that's a distant memory at this point!

@@floormat1977 - Hmm... I've heard of at least 2 more Galaxian3 theaters that belong to private collectors and are in storage. It's a real shame though. There used to be several hundred Galaxian3 theaters around the world. Dave and Busters used to have them in the 1990s and early 2000s. But it used a custom Laserdisc player which broke down often. Laserdisc games are notorious for being unreliable. It's such a shame they used a delicate player in an arcade machine.

Hate to think about it.
