@@ajsnagratin6504 Well, its a great looking and driving luxury car, the design still holds up really well, but at this mileage I already replaced: 6x Glow plugs and glow plug ecu Engine thermostat Exhaust manifold with a cast iron one, removed swirl flaps (Even Bmw itself removed mines when I did engine carbon cleaning on my old x3 e83 2.0d, so they know its a manifacture fault) Changed water pump, new coolant radiator, new valve cover gasket because it was leaking oil. I replaced this all by myself, so if you take it to a shop it will be a costly repair. In the end I won't recommend owning one if you don't know how to work on a Bmw. Apart from that, those old 6 cylinder engines (yes its a 2.5 but still 6 cylinder) are very reliable, if you DON'T neglect the car and do the proper maintenance when its needed.

@@h214suiiii 525d pre lci had 2.5l 6 cylinders with 163 and then 177bhp, while the lci had the same 3.0 m57 as the 530d, but with 197hp. The 530d pre lci were 218 or 231 bhp while the lci 530 was 231 or 235 depending of the year.
Engine has enought power to pull? I'm driving A6 Avant 2.5 TDI 163ps from 3 years, but i want to change it and i dont want the E61 to be slower. So is that 177ps good for overtaking?
@@DjordjeSrpski My 525d / 2007 / 177 HP/ 266 k km (in excellent condition): 100% urban: 11.5.. 12 l; extra urban: 6.2.. 6.5 l (5.. 15 oC outside). I also put 1:150 two stroke hi quality oil- the engine runs smooth and is has a pleasant and warm sound. no issue with the DPF considering the last 40 k km.
@@automobiledy1063 indeed with proper maintenance it is a fantastic, powerful and reliable car. lot of friends of mine have 525d in good condition but no one get less than 11 l /100 in the city.
@@jesper7869 the software of the pre lci models was a bit outdated, it made the gearbox slippery and way too smooth, not using the torque at low revs... I had been driving the lci model with the 3.0 197hp and the gearbox was way better, it felt less sluggish

Dieser 525d macht einfach nur Spass! Ich fahre den selben seit einem Jahr und bin rundum zufrieden! Noch dazu höre ich auch SWR3 ... also, läuft!
Bin selbst stolzer Besitzer eines e60 525d bj 2005 und hab schon rund 418.000km runter. Ich liebe dieses Auto einfach !

My uncle has it. 6 cylinder with 245 hp, same interior, and its gray.
These had 177 bhp originally then they were boosted to 197 afterwards

As a 2007 Bmw 525d 177hp owner I would say definitely!
I have 525d 177 and stage 1+ for about 5 years now. No engine problems, 215hp, the overtake is just a fun play

if you always do the service then it is a reliable vehicle. The consumption in the city is 9,5l/100.

What is the difference between an M Paket Engine and the normal engine?
M Paket is only for the design, it’s the same engine and u can have m Paket on a 316i
