The heavy weapon classes in particular actually have options and you don't feel forced to swap weapons against faster enemies, you can just change stances. It also helps that the game has a functioning poise system, as well as hyper armor done right. These two things alone give you tons of options when it comes to playstyle/builds, let alone the rest of the options Nioh gives you. The game may punish you harder than Souls typically does, but it gives you so many tools to make up for that.
Little did Lenny know that Fists are one of the best/most meta weapon types the game. (Dear god, Beyond Infinity is broken) For you spicy bois at home, although it’s locked all the way at the end of NG++++ and hidden behind a trading mechanic with the little purple Sudama bois (yes that complicated) there’s a armor set that massively buffs unarmed attacks by like over 500% and with Attack+Defense buffs (Unarmed is different from Fists, for context).

The "High, medium and slow" thingy for the movesets was also in Jedi Academy which is like... The best Star Wars game out there which sadly barely anyone has played Although it was only for a single lightsaber and you couldn't get all 3 styles until you were 2/3 far into the game Also strong style was just the best tbh

I guess it was because I did a heavy armor build, but no boss could one shot me, even in the DLC which I did right after beating the main game without ever grinding. I had a much easier time with this game than the first one overall, even though it had been years since I last played Nioh 1.
I honestly have no idea what Nioh or Nioh2 are about or how they work...but I can't complain about the entertainment factor your videos provide. Great work ;)

I can also vouch for nioh 2. The combat is one of the best designed out of any games I've played (some enemies let it down a little but that's also a problem in dark souls). The builds are more in depth and varied than any souls game. Yet aside from the mission based system (as opposed to the more open world approach in dark souls), most of the levels are similar to what you would expect from dark souls, and the nioh devs are huge fans of the series. If you're interested you should definitely check it out, it's 100% worth it.

This confirms a theory of mine. None of the soulslike Lenny characters have been Lenny at all. He's just become a floating blue head who gnaws the heads off of the player characters for a given game and replaces those heads with his own!
High stance Axe with backup Hatchets was all I used but still loved the combat. You forgot to mention how this game has real “Yokai” from Japanese mythos. You gotta go further in your weeb dive.

The real nioh 2 expierence is beating the game once then redoing most of the game again while over becoming seaming over powered and then lastly killing oniroyki a 100 times repeatingly to get a grace on the gear you want and beating some more of game for a third time and lastly beatinng an enemy of choice over and over till it drop the the item with stat that you want while playing in mode the kill if you if anything touches you
