    So as you may know Tenmille made a majority of the Gauge 1 kits used in the show, and recently they re-released an older version of one of the exact same Brake van kits used in the show for their new "Classic Range". I would highly recommend purchasing the kit, or anything else from their store as we could see the return of some of the original Tenmille kit's used in the show.

    ERTL did the best Trob Trucks, they looked exactly the same as the TV model era show. Sadly the Trob Truck toys of today look dope

    Its truly Amazing how they created all this rolling stock! It never fails to blow me away how they did the milk/tar tankers in S1

    0:32 - One thing that's apparent when comparing the early model seasons to the later HiT seasons is the lack of weathering. Sodor was too clean in the HiT era, which made it look more like a trainset than a real working railway.

      Yeah. The rebranding of the show during the Hit era did that to appear more toy-like.

    I loved this video. It was a lot of fun learning about the models they used to make all the troublesome trucks in the classic series. The model work is really something to be admired. Great video 👍

    I already heard that they paint both sides of the milk tank, to make it a tar wagon. But rebuilding the damage after it was destroy, must be hard. Thanks for this great information.

    I wonder if we'll ever get an exact number of how many pieces of rolling stock were used in the show's run.

      Probably not, but we can only estimate. Would be an interesting video topic to investigate.

    I'm glad we got to know about how they made our favorite little gremlins in the model series because because if I had Tenmille kits I would easily create replicas of the trucks in the model era.

    I remember on the wikia that it was said that the NE vans were dark grey, but I never bought that since they were obviously black. The wikia now changed the livery description to black. A very well done video, a bit of a shame you didn’t get to the Lynton and Barnstaple trucks.

    Fun fact: the box van at the front of Edward’s train in A Close Shave is a narrow gauge model scaled to gauge 1.

    Having the tankers repainted white from black was all to save costs for the production

    Just to let you know, the company's name is pronounced "Ten-mill" - as in "ten millimeters to the foot scale", which is one of the two common scales used for Gauge 1 in the UK.

    i wounder what happened to this vast collection of rolling stock, when they stopped using models and moved to CGI?

    • @FlyingFishProductions
      @FlyingFishProductions  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most went to people who worked on the show, private collectors who bought them and still do. Some went to Nitrogen studios in Canada, while I believe all of those have now moved to Mattel's storage or other Museum's. Mattel would have a fair amount, along with Drayton Manor, and the Hara Museum.

    Anyone wanna bet sodor fuel tanker troublesome trucks would be very well behaved out of fear? Mainly cause that fuel would essentially make them a bomb. I can imagine any other trucks part of the same train would also behave knowing a crash would mean certain death for all of them. Yeah there tricksters but there not crazy.
