- 沙巴看守首长沙菲益在华团活动演讲时分享自己与各族相处的经历，并呼吁各族不要责怪华人。沙菲益说，自己的私人医生是印度人，医生不会因为病人肤色不同而给予不同的对待，而他的数学老师是华人，教学时也不分肤色。
曾经担任巫统副主席的沙菲益说，“当我还在巫统的时候，我告诉他们，别责怪华人。他们当老大，有钱，你为什么要怪华人？”
他于是说道，“如果我们马来人陷入困境，输了（选举）之后，高喊‘马来人万岁’。如果马来人不团结，那么马来人在大马就会很辛苦？你领导这个国家超过64年了，当首相、财长、教长、卫长，各种部长，明天你生活艰难，你就怪人家。”
“我们怎么可以怪比尔盖茨是亿万富翁呢？他每天很勤劳地工作，对吗？”

He is right! I have a lot Malay friends also, they are smart and hardworking. I respect them.. we are already living so many years.. why we cannot accept and respect each other. Look at Singapore, everyone say they are singaporean. They are long time be educated as 1 integrated nation.. regardless race, religion and language. They can work together and take care each other.. go to hawker Center eat.. they can sit together and eat each other favourite foods and respect each other culture. Among them, we try to avoid any sensitive topic.. Malaysia only u must respect them and they don’t have to respect u.

Well said. The truth is Malaysia is a multiracial country. When we were young, we never have any problems with the Malays or Indians. Only around 1970, things began to change and all the races were segregated by racial extremists and we were divided into bumiputras and non bumiputras. But if we dig deeper, some Malays, Chinese and Indians are intermixed and adopted by different races. Or they are children of mixed marriages.
