WALTZ AND THREE VARIATIONS - Ferdinand Carulli - Técnica de Guitarra Clásica (Aaron Shearer)

Born on february 9 1770, Fernando Carulli was a native of Naples. His father Michele was a prominent Literator, secretary to the delegate of the Neoplitan Jurisdiction. As a boy he was taught music theory and cello by a priest, as was common at the time. His first instrument was the cello, later choosing to dedicate himself to the study and advancement of the guitar in his late teens. Carulli was self-taught owing to the lack of guitar tuition locally in Naples.
Nacido el 9 de febrero de 1770, Fernando Carulli era natural de Nápoles. Su padre Michele fue un destacado literato, secretario del delegado de la Jurisdicción Neoplitana. Cuando era niño, un sacerdote le enseñó teoría musical y violonchelo, como era común en ese momento. Su primer instrumento fue el violonchelo, optando más tarde por dedicarse al estudio y perfeccionamiento de la guitarra al final de su adolescencia. Carulli fue autodidacta debido a la falta de clases de guitarra a nivel local en Nápoles.
