7:30 As a native Korean and English speaker, that translation is pretty on point.
If it is as smooth and snappy as you said, it seems pretty promising, although your conversation in this video is an information-based, straightforward one. So I wonder how it would be on contextual or emotional conversations?
Or lingo. But then, even google translate isn't perfect and it has been out for a long time
As a native English speaker who speaks conversational Korean, I don't quite follow what you mean... I can't see any missing articles in the English translation, and obviously Korean doesn't have any articles. Did you mean it was missing the "too" when it translated "카메라도"?
@b_fads The nitpick I mentioned was "the phone" being translated to just 전화기 as apposed to 그 전화기. Although, as I said, it's nothing, really.
Imma just edit it out.
In emotional conversation it could just say. Don’t be emotional better days are ahead 😂 of course it is AI

I'm a 6th grade social studies teacher, and every other Friday, I do current events. I included this phone's release as one of the stories they could write up, and as I was explaining it, they got every bit as excited as I was. I work at a very ethnically diverse school, and it got them captivated because someone who speaks only Spanish in an ELD (Language Arts) can converse with someone who only speaks French, when otherwise, they'd be isolated. We're actually planning on using this technology, but it was a pleasant surprise to see that it's included in the phone. Would make my job WAY easier at times. I still have an S21 Ultra, and with the prices I've seen, I might upgrade, honestly.
These Ai Features Are Coming To Samsung Other Devices Also. Dont Upgrade Just For Ai. You Will Get Update Of Ai.

Love the rectangular screen corners and the extra drawing space by the almost dimished round edges. Ultra is a professional phone (Note series) and it returned to it's essence.
No it is not, simply because we have no edged screen, the edged screen really makes things appealing.
@@MutaleMulenga-s3r did you miss the professional part? is it better to lose 1cm of screen width just to have round edges that ruin everything?
And u know that staring at the big black edged screen is cool even if ur phone is off and is even better when it's on. My dream was that Samsung could create a display that would reach the back of the phone having it started the edges already.
The professional part is like u will use the s pen better and all of the same sort but what they would have done was just to create a small magnetic attraction on the screens edges so that the s pen does not SLIP OFF
@@MutaleMulenga-s3r sounds like a very impractical design to use daily. a small display on the back of the phone which allows you to use the back cameras as a selfie camera is perfectly fine (similar to how the galaxy flip does it) but why would you want a full wrap-around display? wouldn't it get covered by a case 99% of the time?

It might be interesting to note that the S24/S24+ have the Exynos 2400 in some countries (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 are for US, China, Japan and Canada only apparently for these phones). The S24 Ultra has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for all of countries.

The S23 didn't have the difference from what I saw quickly searching for it, I thought they mostly used it for their FE models
@@tumelo_drill97 Except one year when S23 series was Snapdragon only, no exynos.
@kyberkelnera97
Probably a bit. From what I read quickly that the Exynos is a bit less powerful and a bit more power hungry. But it's something that might also be fixed in the future. Interesting to note is that they don't put it in their top of the line phone (S24 Ultra) so they aren't fully confident
Love when new tech is coming out. No matter what brand it is.
Right, I hope more take comes out that rivals the Pixel. Don't get me wrong, I love the Pixel, but I prefer more competition from other countries

Me too. I just liked the look of them. I'm gonna miss it
I hate them an I've been using them since 2017. Hate it lol😂
Yess and they're one of the differentiating features Samsung has over other phones. I wish they would have at least introduced two options, see which sells better, and then decide which to keep.
I mean those who prefer flat screens can still go for the already flatenned non-ultra models.
I had a love/hate relationship with the edges. They look awesome but I've also cracked 3 screens because of it 😂
@@denziiey hate is the understatement of the year. Lol
They are the one thing I can't stand about the last 2-3 Samsung phones I've owned. My screen protectors would start to peel back on the edges within first few months and they made playing Golf Clash miserable because your finger rolls off the edge and caused misfires. IMO, the curved edge added zero value to the use of the phone and doesn't make it look or function any better than a flat display.

I moved away from iPhones to Galaxy S23 Ultra, which I love, so I think I will keep it for a while, phones are really at their peak now, no point on changing them often, even Samsung knows it by adding 7 years support
Also I'm pretty sure that in the Samsung presentation he said that they will be rolling out the AI features to "selected Samsung devices" later . which most likely includes the S23 Ultra

Only $280 to upgrade to S24+ from an S22+ with trade-in credit, I'm tempted because my battery is starting to go downhill at this point. I think the + is the sweet spot for most in the Galaxy lineup.
The 8 gen 2/3 battery optimization is worth it alone. Or find one of the 23’s for a solid price
The 10x is probably the biggest reason I got the ultra, it sucks that they dialed it back instead of putting a better sensor while keeping it 10x
I'm with you but I gotta see comparisons of the native x10 vs digital x10 in the s24
its not really a downgrade, though. the 5x cropped to 10x will be like a 12mp photo, bigger than the 10mp the old 10x zoom had. Sure, it's a digital "zoom" and not optical, but I doubt you will see any difference at all. And the 5x optical filling the gap between 3 and 10 is so much more useful in real world use.
keep your S23U until the S25U
When he showed off the difference between a 3x and a 5x it was really disappointing
Kinda a bummer. I might wait for them to use 50MP across the board aside from the main camera. Maybe later they'll make it 0.6x 1x 3x 6x 10x? That would be nice.

so they copied iPhones design and Google's software? feels like we're getting closer to a universal device....this is sci-fi stuff. So it’ll never happen
Honestly I'm really glad they DIDN'T copy iphone's design. I am using an iphone 15 pro max right now, which I can still return, and I now plan to for the s24. the main thing I hate about the iphone is how much like a kids toy it feels. Like what the fuck is up with these rounded corners? Like they are aggressively rounded. Like give me a fucking rectangle how hard is that. Thankfully the Ultra kept it premium by not copying iphone. Sure the s24 has the rounded corners, but it says a lot that their premium device does not have it. It's like they are shitting on the iphone saying the rounded corners are the cheap option, but the real premium option is to have a fucking rectangle. 3:37 OMG do you watch the “theory” family of channels? Food theory, game theory, film theory etc
This guy most comfortable to listen and watch. Watching since presentation of s21 violet. 🔥
I used to take photos with the 10x zoom on my S21 Ultra to get that beautiful natural background blur. I wonder if that 5x lens actually can get the same result.
I think the image instant search thing should extend to translation. It's like one of the most freaking useful feature anyone can have and not sure why Google hasn't include that in their OS all these years.
It's there, you can highlight the text
@@Saif_Ali_Khan_1301 I mean a fast way of doing it universally in the phone even for text you can't highlight. Eg. Instagram comments, which is like one of the app i use a lot and being able to translate them easily is not here. Google used to allow long pressing of the Home button to screenshot translate but they took that away. That feature was like freaking awesome until some guy in Google decided that wasn't useful.
My biggest complaint is why facebook, whatsapp, everyone isn't clever enough to have on the fly translation in convos.
My S21 can do it, its called Bixby vision. Works well
Use google lens just ss the text you want to translate and open the screenshot in the app and it's translated
2:40 Actually across the Atlantic the S24 and S24+ now have the Exynos 2400.
Yet the price stays the same lmao. For real, shame on samsung. Jokes on me though cause that made me buy the ultra one..just because of the cpu.
Which is why I'm sticking to my 23ultra. For once we got snapdragon worldwide
@@Ballissle they left snapdragon for S24 Ultra. They replaced it for exynos only for s24 and s24+. I guess they had enough dignity to leave ultra out of this since its their monster phone so cutting costs there would stop people from paying so much for it.
@meduza93 Oh really? Well, that changes things. Although they should ditch exynos altogether.
But I still won't change for at least another 2 years anyway. My last phone, a note 8, lasted from release to last year, and I really love the 23 ultra. The 24 ultra just seems like a sidestep. And it's mostly software improvements. Albeit taking advantage of some of the changes in hardware. I see no reason to change for the cameras and the Ai stuff I would probably forget about after a week anyway and continue to use what I currently do for general tasks like that.
@@Ballissle if u got s23 ultra I dont think s24 ultra would change much for you. All the AI stuff is just getting started...I'd say this gen is not groundbreaking. Let them work on the AI and some new stuff over the year. Perhaps s25 is gonna be the one thats gonna shake up the market a bit more. I have to switch phones like asap so its s24 ultra for me but I definately wouldnt even think about it if I had s23 already
This is so sick! Flat screen + the AI features are dope. I have the s23 ultra so imma pass but if I was in the market, I'd get this
Love this preview, and the MatPat shoutout even more. Maybe I'll replace my S20FE this year as those AI feature look sick!
with what? Plus, ultra or regular?
@@giovanniprado3887 Still debating about the camera. If I want the 5x lens, the Ultra. Else the regular one.
The phone translation seems the most appealing to me, it would be interesting to see if it integrates into apps such as WhatsApp. Maybe a test in the upcoming full review?
It's actually have no sense, it will not work in some countries. And basically cloud - AI based, you need 5G internet to use it. And messengers integration is horrible idea, you just allow Samsung to read everything you do and store that on there servers.
@@d1namisThe translation is done offline by the phone CPU, you can turn off mobile data when using it.
@@mrfrenzy. i also remember to see article on TechCrunch about offline translation, but looks like they removed it. On official Samsung website in FAQ section it explicitly talk about WIFI recommendation and online nature of translation It actually have offline features like text translation and OCR, but that's it.

The Ultra Version with Black & Purple Colour is Certainly My Cup of Tea!!! Absolutely Super Upgrade than the Previous Generations!!! Awesome 😃👍🏻
Im never disappointed with any of your videos.. thank you.
Not sure that I will upgrade from my S23 ultra... but love some of the A.I stuff..
I didn't expect Samsung would release a phone that similar with iPhone at this point. They were sort of establishing their own character
I think the S line is after the Apple crowd at this point and the Flex and Flip phones are their own playing grounds.
@@KAMiKAZOWI think you’re 100% right. Because it’s always been “but iPhone’s are prettier”. There’s no rebuttal now other than the ecosystem I guess.

For Asia only
Being a Samsung enthusiast I've been searching/looking into this S24 series. But when you bring to the table I could say it's certified.
me too except it just doesn't sound like big upgrade. Like personally, I am sad to see curved screen go from samsung phones. on top of that now the s24 has released, why aren't people talking about stacking battery technology that tech articles were talking about?
Google already losing the AI battle. The fact pixel can translate and subtitle audio, yet when you try to do it in a call it doesn't work. It's just embarrasing
Idk how many of you remember, but this feature @5:00 seems similar to the "what's on my screen" feature of Google Assistant back in the day, ig in 2018-19. But they removed the feature in a couple of months. It was one of my favorites.. glad they are bringing it back, and renaming it.
Just found out that screen search is back on Google Assistant. It’s no longer called “what’s on my screen” but now effectively 2 shortcut buttons to either search or translate your screen on Google Lens.
I am iphone user, but the design of Galaxy looks so neat and cool! nice design and performance!
S24 and s24+ looks like an iphone copy, it looks the same

I just want dual front facing speakers or speakers more competitive with the iPhone at least. That said I love the blueish-violet. Seem like very good changes overall (especially 1440p for the +). I hope the far zoom is just as good as I really love it on my S22U not that I am likely to upgrade soon but it is a really nice feature
true
Isn't there already a speaker at the top and bottom?
Sony using forward facing Dolby Atmos speakers, best on the market.
@@robertsas9001those are worst fake ratings given away by Dolby.
I mean even for a most basic atmos surround sound setup you need 5.1.2 speakers(7 speakers total), so how is atmos possible on a smartphone stereo speakers ?
According to Dolby they downmix the signals and process it through binaural pricessing to simulate atmos in stereo setup but binural without a custom HRTF is just down bad.
It's a gimmick at best.
@@Arts11234 works the same way as the Dolby soundbar. You don't need speakers around you to get a surround sound effect. Obviously it's not the same as the 5.1 for example but does pretty amazing job. As much as a gimmick as the high resolution audio.
I am a devoted Apple user, and I think Apple should be serious about the iPhone 16 because the opponents are strong.
I love how all corners of the Internet know about MatPat and The Game Theorists 🤣
This actually feels like the vibe and hype the S21 Ultra had and for the other two gens wasn’t that hyped but this S24 ultra seems a-lot smoother as Samsung is known to be laggier than the IPhone and now looks like that’s fixed but the main feature I’m excited for is AI and 120HZ 4K video recording let’s see if it can keep up with the iPhone or is better ?!
The problem with Apple products is that they are bland and has no personality and is heavily reliant on hype and peer pressure, just like it's users. With Samsung you get the wow factor, the hyper factor and all the personality. Besides I never seen an high end Samsung phone ever lag nor an Iphone unless both are put into extreme stress and temperature.
@@baldwinivofjerusalem47gotta say no. Video recording has always been so much better with iPhone compared to any Samsung. iPhone has better performance by a mile as well, especially with the gaming scene on iPhone getting better and better every day it really adds up.
They both have hype around them because they’re both really good phones, you can’t say one is supremely worse or better for everyone.

The curve is what made the phone so beautiful. People were in awe whenever they saw my s23 over the boring flat iphone. There is no coolness factor with Samsung now. Very sad
